Two alleged “alien” corpses that are believed to be at least 1,000 years old were put on display in Mexico.

Self-proclaimed ufologist and journalist Jaime Maussan unveiled the specimens, presented in windowed boxes, during a congressional session in Mexico City on Tuesday.

“They are beings, non-humans who are not part of our terrestrial evolution and that after disappearing we do not [think] there is a subsequent evolution,” Maussan said, according to Newsweek.

Maussan briefed officials from the U.S. and Mexican governments and said the mummified corpses were retrieved from mines in Cusco, Peru.

During the presentation, a full body and head with eyes, mouth and nose could be seen through the glass, along with three fingers on each hand.

Experts said the bodies contained “eggs” inside along with rare metal implants such as cadmium and osmium.

Maussan said the alleged corpses were studied by scientists at the Autonomous National University of Mexico and were carbon dated to approximately 1,000 years ago. Pictures of X-rays of the specimens were shown during the hearing.

Maussan said scientists took DNA samples from the alleged aliens and compared it to other DNA samples, and found that over 30% from the specimens was “unknown.”

“Whether they are aliens or not, we don’t know,” he told attendees, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail. “But they were intelligent and they lived with us. They should rewrite history.”

Maussan has previously claimed “alien” discoveries found in Peru in 2017, which were debunked after analysis found the corpses to be human children.
