There should simply be a criteria for employing an equal number of men and women... (from various races etc) Equal pay for equal work is just commonsense.

If women of any race have the right qualifications for a position then certainly they should be among the list of candidates for a position. Their creds will determine if they are the right person for the job/position.

NO- that is dead wrong! Neither gender should have been an issue. When a job is being awarded it should go strictly to the best qualified person to do the job. Gender isn't part of the criteria- unless perhaps the job entails being a surrogate mother!
