For lefties they sure built Canada into a petroleum giant right in step with Cons and that will never change

Huh.

This sounds a lot like these boards.

Keep up the good work Conbots!

The narrative of Trudeau as an empty vessel with little but name, toothy grin and hair to his credit first became current in early 2012. It got a road test during the Liberal leadership campaign in 2012 and early 2013, as contenders such as Martha Hall Findlay and Marc Garneau used it to what they believed was good effect. The Tories then picked up the ball in April of 2013 in the first of a series of attack ads, and they have been running it doggedly downfield ever since, up to and including Saturday in Calgary.

All through that period, Trudeau and the Liberals have steadily improved their position. One does not have to be Alexis de Tocqueville to appreciate that something in Harper’s message is misfiring.

As usual you missed the important part of the story.

As long as Cons keep doing the Shmegma Levant routine, we can expect a smooth ride to a Liberal majority.

Heard this very same message with Dion and Ignatief... The difference at the time(s) is that both or Trudeau's predecessors were legitimately, intelligent men.

We all know what the outcome was in both

PS - They also had a platform(s)

That is why just-in is even getting polling numbers. He has no platform as yet to kick out from under his failed party. So far all he presents is a prety face.

Here is the picture since 2009. This is just a snapshot in time and things definitely could change before the election.

What the poll #'s don't tell you is the relative support of today's libs as compared to the hey-days.

Justine has a guaranteed increase in support based on the horrific results from elections past... The ideologues desperately need to market this as 'amazing support' but conveniently leave-out the premise that the Lib Party was once a mainstream, big tent party... There will always be residual support because of that.

Ultimately, the Libs had lots of numbers supporting them in the last elections, but they have eroded their base such that the support is no longer concentrated in the individual ridings and that makes for an excellent opportunity to split votes and have a dark-horse win the race (see the NDP in Que).

PET at least had some policies to lean on, Justine has nothing other than a preference to legalize pot and an absolute demand that his party and any/all MPs take a pro choice position on the abortion debate.... That alone will screw him at the polls

Now you care about the polls.

You need to trade in your flipflops.

They're getting rather dirty.

It's way too much fun dissecting your position MF.

Fact is, there is only 1 poll that counts... I have consistently said that from the get-go

What is the Liberal message?

Trudeau's big burning questions are:

What's your favorite virtue?... Who are your real life heroes (as opposed to your fictional heroes)

Liberal genius and who is behind it is apparent in what shaped this country.
sometimes Those Very Person of Absolute Power allow the C logo morons to do their work at fiscal sense.
this time out the gate it was a bit of a misnomer for Them and They shall destroy these people forever at the next election.

What is the Liberal message?

What the Trudeau Effect Has Done for the Liberal Party

In his short time as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau has become the antithesis of this genre of politician. His style is hopeful and optimistic, his purpose the greater good. He pushes people to aspire to be the best they can be. In his world, trust and openness replace parochialism.

Trudeau's confidence is also infectious. In part because of that, he has become a magnet for talent. There's no better indication of a great leader than one who seeks to attract exceptional people to his cause. In growing numbers across Canada, great people are choosing to enter active public life as candidates for the Liberal Party. What draws them is Justin Trudeau and the hope and practical idealism he represents. They are people of quality, accomplishment and dedication to service to Canada.

The Trudeau's of the world have nothing to offer other than vacuous statements, zero policy and zero substance.

... Just take a look at the op/ed pieces written about Trudeau Jr; there is absolutely nothing in JT's positions or policies (read: he has none) that merits any discussion... It's all fluff and good intentions.

It's all well and good that he is able to grab the public's attention through his name, looks, etc, but with nothing to back it up, he will not move forward, he'll only be; Shiny Pony... When he does open his mouth, he has embarrassed himself and Party over and over.

He needs better handlers and a support group that can form intelligible policy
