A republic and a democracy are pretty much identical, pretty much on every level. Except for one. The difference is, in a republic, the sovereignty rests with every individual person. With a democracy, it rests with a group. And this is a big distinction. Because we elect leaders to represent us. Oh, my goodness! What does he think, it's a monarchy, a dictatorship? You know, various forms of government are very inefficient.These are very inefficient. We are a republic, very inefficient. If you want a really efficient form of government, you have a king or a dictator. And in the end, you hope it's a benevolent one. But then you could get things done. There's no lurching, there's no bumps. That's the cornerstone of checks and balances.
