The genetically altered chicken doesn't really need all that space because it can't walk past the distance of an A4 paper anyways. It's grown so fast that it's legs cannot bear the weight of it's oversized desirable parts (like the breast).
Some chicken houses I've seen in documentaries are even worse than the picture shown in the original post. Some are closed off to the outside meaning the chicken rarely ever sees the light of day.
This is the result of mass production and processing to feed a huge population.

You are what you eat and so too it is with chickens. Those factory jobs eat only white stuff full of medications and steroids and growth hormones and their own ****, that's what the Colonel covers up with the eleven secret chemicals and it's all in our chicken burgers. Why not just buy a bag of the junk laced white stuff in the first place. It's virtual chicken, it looks real but it stinks like linoleum.
