Heck why not?

Appease the masses? Why not? Sort of deflates the Bloc doesn't it.

I'd love for Duceppe to succinctly define the "Fiscal Imbalance". After that, he'll have nothing to say.

Did you know the Bloc doesn't even have a proper english version website?

Quote: "Please note that this section is not a full translation of the Bloc Québécois Web site. In the weeks and months ahead, we will add the most important and most frequently consulted Bloc Québécois documents."

It's not a new website. So much for promoting understanding... Yeesh.

I will reserve my comment until such time as Quebec uses this to a legal end, and gets all sorts of goodies from our wallets.

Mark my words, this is gunna hurt.

He's just pandering to the Quebec vote, with no concept of the implications of what he's doing.

Bear's right. This is gonna hurt. And it's gonna get ugly and stupid.

I'm so disgusted with Harper I could puke, he's doing nothing but pandering to Quebec and it's voters. He's playing with fire, we in the East have had enough and you can bet that Atlantic Canada will be a sea of red if an election is called. Back stabbing lying little brick, oh Stevie "I don't govern by polls" no you throw money at Quebec and call it expanding the Highway to what Stevie the Nation of Quebec and then you call Quebec a nation without consulting the rest of Canada enjoy your little taste of Power Harper you are done like dinner. The East never liked you now we loathe your lying little fat ass. I'm betting money that Danny Williams in NFL will not be running under the PC banner when he's due for re-election quick Liberals get him on board he has morals and ethics. I'm really pissed off.:pukeright: :pukeright: :pukeright: :pukeright: :pukeright: :pukeright:

Still to pissed off with Mr. Potatoe head to discuss this issue maybe in six months I can speak of this issue. Gag me with a spoon, Lib versus Cons okay what's the freaking difference. NONE. Politicians suck big time. Liar-liar pants on fire while the rest of Canada burns in anger.

Well done Stevie.

For stating the obvious.

No kidding. I look forward to the pending controversy over what "unity" means. It'll be a nice change. What I can't figure out is why he's letting Iggy off the hook. Its not like the Bloc motion was going to pass.

that Quebec be recognized as a nation within a united Canada. Credit where its due. He could have dragged it out to make the Liberals squirm.

bravo

AND STILL the Bloc are not happy... moral of the story..enough already. Time someone did a "Trudeau" on Quebec and inform them that enough is enough. they have one option if remaining in Canada, to be Canadian. PERIOD.

The whole raison d'etre of the Bloc is to bitch and complain about Quebec's position in Canada. If they went to the Quebec population and said "Hey, everything's fine with Quebec's relationship with the rest of the country," they will have given Quebeckers no reason to vote for them.

Agreed. I have a real sore spot about the Bloc. I do not think any party that represents one province only should be allowed to have seats in the Commons.

Nah, I don't agree.

If the constituents want to elect one of the 20 members running for the Marijuana Party, let them.

Democracy is supposed to be a reflection of the will of the people, not a mechanism to serve a monolithic political structure.

Each province in Canada has its uniqueness ,I cant imagine a Canada without Quebec ,I cant imagine a Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan. Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon Territory. This is what Canada is .We have a common thread ,we all are made up of immigrants from other parts of the world .Except of Course the Native peoples and the Inuit they were here .
I feel for the most part Quebec does not want to seperate ,it is a elite soceity in Quebec that want to rule take total control of thier people ,regarless of the average persons wishes and regardless if that may cause harm ,,It is a group of very rich people that want to have ther own little country regardless of the average citizen 's wishes ,I love the culture, terrian ,the people of Quebec ,these have a;lway been Canadas Quebec .Each province has its marvels and attraction ,but together we are rich in Cultures and tolerance . We stand as One

Agreed that this could easily be a pandora's box, but if Harper did not move on this, and move well by saying that the provence can do what ever it wants, but its still a provence, then the liberals would have. Balls of steel, much more then has been seen from the liberal party, Canada needs strong leadership, and that requires a leader willing to take a strong stance. Perhaps Harper was worried about the liberal party ripping itself apart, leaving a power vaccum for the Bloc to fill?

"Balls of steel"? from the PM!!! The Conservative PArty??? You're joking surely. I am pretty sure Mr. Harper isn't allowed to have his own balls by his master Bush. The Conservative Party is far too busy trying to placate their American masters or their Quebec members to worry about the good of the whole country.
You obviously were not alive during the Trudeau reigme to suggest the Liberals have no idea of strong leadership. Now there was aCanadian who put the interests of the whole country before the desires of any one province.
