Every economy on Earth is one bad headline away from total collapse.

Without massive government intervenion and massive production cuts the oil industry would be dead right now, instead of dying.

Especially Vancouver what with declaring bankruptcy an all.

No tourist season in the lower mainland this year. Probably lead to thousands of businesses declaring bankruptcy

Just think of all those billions and billions of dollars going into fossil fuels

Good point I have seen those things advertised all over the internet .

Yes - BUT HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

I have a neighbour who bought one of the electric bikes last spring - one that looks a lot like a kawasaki ninja sport bike

and he rode it all summer - then it sat all winter - and now spring is here and HE AINT RIDING!

Maybe he lacks the cash for license or insurance as his bike IS NOT one those "sidewalk models" - it is full street machine!

OR MAYBE LEAVING THE BATTERY IN THE BIKE ALL WINTER IN A FREEZING GARAGE HAS KILLED IT!!!!!!!

The battery is big enough that it would be awkward to dismantle and haul inside to the warmth!

All it would take to KILL electric TOY vehicle sales in Canada would be a few kids complaining that

"you CANNOT safely store the batery in a Cdn winter"!

Those batteries ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH PROBLEMS with age related degeneration - without running into

NEW PROBLEMS related to storage!

Electric TOYS are like everything else coming out of China - DESIGNED FOR A FAST BUCK AND SHORT SERVICE LIFE!!!!!!

You oil peeps sure do looooove China these days

China Is Buying Up Canadian Crude Again

At least three tankers loaded with Canadian crude have headed to China since the start of the year, Bloomberg reports, citing shipping data. This is the latest sign of how the oil crisis is changing demand patterns.

The usual buyers of Canadian crude are U.S. refineries, but demand has been depressed in the United States. In China, however, it appears to be improving, benefiting the long-suffering Canadian oil industry. Oil sands producers had to shut in about 1 million bpd in oil production amid the latest price crisis, and the survival of some is questionable.

Well there goes the environment.

Have you stopped buying Canadian raw materials processed into goods in China yet?

Good point I have seen those things advertised all over the internet .

I have previously mentioned our neighbour kid who bought an electric motorcycle last summer......

he rode the thing ONE SEASON and now has a half ton pick up truck that HE MUCH PREFERS!

After all the truck will carry a bunch of his pals and he can listen to tunes and etc!

And NO PROBLEMS with messed up LITHIUM batteries that need refueling after a few minutes use!

and in the news last night was an interview with an electric TOY bike shop owner who says biz is WAY UP!

So what it comes down to is that given a choice between being crammed into a Plague Wagon - also known as a

Toronto Transit bus - or riding an electric TOY in clean isolation - it seems a lot of people will prefer their electric TOYS!

Just so long as it is NOT SNOWING or pouring rain!

And it seems reasonable to suppose that CAR SALES may go up in the cooler weather!

So much for the "Death of Oil" that hemerHOID has predicted!

And I note the price of gas IS UP - AGAIN as the economy revives!
