"While all the artists you listed are quite accomplished, most are also dead."

And, of course, that invalidates their greatness, according to you.

Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Ruben, Michelangelo are also dead. So, according to your 'logic', their works are no more relevant, valuable or valid.

People like you must consider - based on your expertise on music - paintings of poker playing dogs, Elvis painted on black velvet, garden gnomes and yard jockeys the greatest pieces of paintings and sculpture.

Probably you and those who share your mindset (Cliffy and VanIsle) place Marvel comics ahead of Dickens, Shakespeare, Tolstoy and Voltaire.

Just as you prefer cacophony to symphony.

Who needs "New Music" when there is Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi, Puccini, Liszt, Lehar, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, Bizet and Glinka?

Or - just to prove that I am not an incorrigible old geek - Elvis Presley, Pat Boone, Patsy Cline, Guy Lombardo, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, The Four Lads, The Kingston Trio, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Nat "King" Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole etc. etc.

If you don't know whom or what I am talking about, get a proper Grade 1 education.

I am an old geek. And even I don't listen to any of those performers. The pre-20th century composers, yes. But not the 1940s or 1950s performers.

A new band that you might want to check out is Like A Storm! They are an amazing band and have absolutely wonderful songs. They are from New Zealand, but live in Vancouver and are playing a show in Canada in May. Once you listen to them you will love them!

New Music- Like A Storm

I've recently gotten really into a band called Like A Storm...you can find some of their music simply by just googling their name, they also have a YouTube page a long with a MySpace where you can listen to some of their music off of their new album  A few of my personal favorites are "Enemy" and "Chemical Infatuation" it also makes it a whole lot better that they're going to be starting off their Canadian tour! I highly recommend this band to anyone who likes alternative rock...even if you don't they're definitely worth a listen.

This is not alternative rock. It is main stream homogenized heavy metal. Yawn.

I happened to like this band, thanks for the recommendation! I would say it IS alternative rock, and SinWithAGrin91 was probably suggesting it to the person who started this thread...because they DID state that they like specifically ALTERNATIVE ROCK. :)

Well you may like it but it is specifically NOT alternative rock. It is mind numbingly boring, bland eighties style pap.

Good day. :canada:

Megz09/SinWithAGrin....Like we've told JadaKissed143/Tobias37... One Account
per person....and the Terms of Service can be found at the link at the bottom of
every single page on this Forum, if you ignored them when you where creating
your multiple accounts...which is against the rules of this Forum.

I'm glad that you two people like this Band, though one of you is being paid to
promote them and has admitted it on this Forum...making their post(s) SPAM.

My apologies; I didn't realize there was already a thread about new music, or I would've posted in that.
No, this isn't spam, so screw off. This is in NO way in conflict with the Terms of Service. I do promotional work for this band. Why do they need to be promoted? Oh, I don't know, maybe because they're a new band who's just starting out and is trying to get their name out?
They've been on Octane on Sirius, and they toured with Creed, Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd and Skillet.
If you don't want to listen to them, then don't.
But they're a good band, so don't attack me for spreading their name.

Every Band needs at least one fan. I guess you're it. Sorry if it seems like I have
a negative attitude, but we don't do SPAM here, and have the "Terms of Service"
for very valid reasons.

SPAM for this Band is still SPAM...& is in the same league as the Mexican
Bathtub Viagra, and the Korean Escort Agencies with their "barely legal teens,"
and the Russian Children Pronograghy, and so on and so forth...even though this:
