New Research: Genetically-Modified Food is Harmful to Mammals and Stops Them Reproducing

Wednesday, 28 April 2010 09:37

'Russia has started the annual Days of Defence against Environmental Hazards from the 15th of April to the 5th of June with the announcement of sensational results of an independent work of research. Scientists have proved that Genetically Modified Organisms are harmful for mammals. The researchers discovered that animals that eat GM foodstuffs lose their ability to reproduce.
Campbell hamsters that have a fast reproduction rate were fed for two years with ordinary soya beans, which are widely used in agriculture and those contain different percentages of GM organisms. Another group of hamsters, the control group, was fed with pure soya, which was found with great difficulty in Serbia because 95 percent of soya in the world is transgenic.'

Ever heard of the global 2000 report to the president? Its a blueprint for genocide.
jimmy carter got cyrus vance to do a study into what the worlds population would be like come the year 2000, and the planet would be coping.
I have a copy of it, and it basically states that for the planet to survive, the worlds population has to be reduced by 2/3s by any means possible.............vaccines, invented deseases, famine, war, gm food, fluoride, aspartame, the list is long.

I downloaded a photo from this study which shows hair growing between and around the teeth of hamsters as a direct result of being fed GMO soy. Now how frickin' gross is that. This study took place over five years and involved several hundreds of hamsters and several generations.

Was reading in one of my bulletins today, that Monsanto is after pork and meat patents now.

"Multinational seed corporations are following a consequent strategy to gain control over basic resources for food production. As recent research shows not only genetically engineered plants, but more and more the conventional breeding of plants gets into the focus of patent monopolies: International patent applications in this sector are skyrocking, having doubled since 2007 till end of 2009. Further on the multinationals expand their claims over the whole chain of food production from feed to animals and food products such as meat. In a pending patent application from Monsanto even bacon and steaks are claimed: Patent application WO2009097403 is claiming meat stemming from pigs being fed with the patented genetically engineered plants of Monsanto. A similar patent is applied for fish from aquaculture in March 2010 (WO201027788). Far reaching patents on food are even already granted: Monsanto received a European patent (EP 1356033) in 2009, which the chain of food production from seeds of genetically engineered plants up to food products such as meal and oil are covered."

Profitable Depopulation Plot Links JP Morgan-Chase And Goldman Sachs To Vaccination Contaminations And Big Pharma Corruption

Friday, 30 April 2010 09:18

'A medical investigation into suspicious outbreaks and propaganda used to sell drugs and vaccines has exposed investment bankers at JP Morgan-Chase (JPMC) and Goldman Sachs (GS) for plotting to shock/stress, frighten, poison, and kill billions of people most profitably--pharmaceutically--according to the Editor-in-Chief of Medical Veritas journal.

While researching a powerful Partnership for New York City (PFNYC), uniting Wall Street's wealthiest industrialists, Harvard-trained public health expert, Dr. Leonard Horowitz, and investigative journalist, Sherri Kane, discovered shocking evidence of a conspiracy to commit global genocide by generating diseases and death to advance profitable pharmaceutical depopulation.'

10 reasons why we don't need GM foods (updated)
http://www.gmwatch.org/10-reasons-why-we-dont-need-gm-foods

With the cost of food recently skyrocketing – hitting not just shoppers but the poor and hungry in the developing world – genetically modified (GM) foods are once again being promoted as the way to feed the world. But this is little short of a confidence trick. Far from needing more GM foods, there are urgent reasons why we need to ban them altogether.

1. GM foods won't solve the food crisis

A 2008 World Bank report concluded that increased biofuel production is the major cause of the increase in food prices.[1] GM giant Monsanto has been at the heart of the lobbying for biofuels (crops grown for fuel rather than food) — while profiting enormously from the resulting food crisis and using it as a PR opportunity to promote GM foods!

"The climate crisis was used to boost biofuels, helping to create the food crisis; and now the food crisis is being used to revive the fortunes of the GM industry." - Daniel Howden, Africa correspondent of The Independent[2]

"The cynic in me thinks that they're just using the current food crisis and the fuel crisis as a springboard to push GM crops back on to the public agenda. I understand why they're doing it, but the danger is that if they're making these claims about GM crops solving the problem of drought or feeding the world, that's bull****." – Prof Denis Murphy, head of biotechnology at the University of Glamorgan in Wales[3]

2. GM crops do not increase yield potential

Despite the promises, GM has not increased the yield potential of any commercialised crops.[4] In fact, studies show that the most widely grown GM crop, GM soya, has suffered reduced yields.[5]

A report that analyzed nearly two decades worth of peer reviewed research on the yield of the primary GM food/feed crops, soybeans and corn (maize), reveals that despite 20 years of research and 13 years of commercialization, genetic engineering has failed to significantly increase US crop yields. The author, former US EPA and US FDA biotech specialist Dr Gurian-Sherman, concludes that when it comes to yield, "Traditional breeding outperforms genetic engineering hands down."[6]

"Let's be clear. As of this year [2008], there are no commercialized GM crops that inherently increase yield. Similarly, there are no GM crops on the market that were engineered to resist drought, reduce fertilizer pollution or save soil. Not one." – Dr Doug Gurian-Sherman[7]

3. GM crops increase pesticide use

US government data shows that in the US, GM crops have produced an overall increase, not decrease, in pesticide use compared to conventional crops.[8]

"The promise was that you could use less chemicals and produce a greater yield. But let me tell you none of this is true." – Bill Christison, President of the US National Family Farm Coalition[9]

4. There are better ways to feed the world

A major UN/World Bank-sponsored report compiled by 400 scientists and endorsed by 58 countries concluded that GM crops have little to offer global agriculture and the challenges of poverty, hunger, and climate change, because better alternatives are available. In particular, the report championed "agroecological" farming as the sustainable way forward for developing countries.[10]

5. Other farm technologies are more successful

Integrated Pest Management and other innovative low-input or organic methods of controlling pests and boosting yields have proven highly effective, particularly in the developing world.[11] Other plant breeding technologies, such as Marker Assisted Selection (non-GM genetic mapping), are widely expected to boost global agricultural productivity more effectively and safely than GM.[12] [13]

"The quiet revolution is happening in gene mapping, helping us understand crops better. That is up and running and could have a far greater impact on agriculture [than GM]." – Prof John Snape, head of the department of crop genetics, John Innes Centre[14]

6. GM foods have not been shown to be safe to eat

Genetic modification is a crude and imprecise way of incorporating foreign genetic material (e.g. from viruses, bacteria) into crops, with unpredictable consequences. The resulting GM foods have undergone little rigorous and no long-term safety testing, but animal feeding tests have shown worrying health effects.[15] Only one study has been published on the direct effects on humans of eating a GM food.[16] It found unexpected effects on gut bacteria, but was never followed up.

It is claimed that Americans have eaten GM foods for years with no ill effects. But these foods are unlabeled in the US and no one has monitored the consequences. With other novel foods like trans fats, it has taken decades to realize that they have caused millions of premature deaths.[17]

"We are confronted with the most powerful technology the world has ever known, and it is being rapidly deployed with almost no thought whatsoever to its consequences." — Dr Suzanne Wuerthele, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) toxicologist

7. Stealth GMOs in animal feed - without consumers' consent

Meat, eggs and dairy products from animals raised on the millions of tons of GM feed imported into Europe do not have to be labelled. Some studies show that contrary to GM and food industry claims, animals raised on GM feed ARE different from those raised on non-GM feed.[18] Other studies show that if GM crops are fed to animals, GM material can appear in the resulting products[19] and that the animals' health can be affected.[20] So eating "stealth GMOs" may affect the health of consumers.

8. GM crops are a long-term economic disaster for farmers

A 2009 report showed that GM seed prices in America have increased dramatically, compared to non-GM and organic seeds, cutting average farm incomes for US farmers growing GM crops. The report concluded, "At the present time there is a massive disconnect between the sometimes lofty rhetoric from those championing biotechnology as the proven path toward global food security and what is actually happening on farms in the US that have grown dependent on GM seeds and are now dealing with the consequences."[21]

9. GM and non-GM cannot co-exist

GM contamination of conventional and organic food is increasing. An unapproved GM rice that was grown for only one year in field trials was found to have extensively contaminated the US rice supply and seed stocks.[22] In Canada, the organic oilseed rape industry has been destroyed by contamination from GM rape.[23] In Spain, a study found that GM maize "has caused a drastic reduction in organic cultivations of this grain and is making their coexistence practically impossible".[24]

The time has come to choose between a GM-based, or a non-GM-based, world food supply.

"If some people are allowed to choose to grow, sell and consume GM foods, soon nobody will be able to choose food, or a biosphere, free of GM. It's a one way choice, like the introduction of rabbits or cane toads to Australia; once it's made, it can’t be reversed." – Roger Levett, specialist in sustainable development[25]

10. We can't trust GM companies

The big biotech firms pushing their GM foods have a terrible history of toxic contamination and public deception.[26] GM is attractive to them because it gives them patents that allow monopoly control over the world's food supply. They have taken to harassing and intimidating farmers for the "crime" of saving patented seed or "stealing" patented genes — even if those genes got into the farmer's fields through accidental contamination by wind or insects.[27]

"Farmers are being sued for having GMOs on their property that they did not buy, do not want, will not use and cannot sell." – Tom Wiley, North Dakota farmer[28]

A New Earthquake Hits Haiti -- Monsanto's Deadly Gift of 475 Tonnes of Genetically-Modified Seeds to Haitian Farmers

Wednesday, 12 May 2010 05:45

'Haiti's earthquake on 12 January this year has been a lucky business break for some. The transnational firm Monsanto is offering the country's farmers a deadly gift of 475 tonnes of genetically-modified (GM) seeds, along with associated fertiliser and pesticides, which will be handed out free by the WINNER project, with the backing of the US embassy in Haiti. Do Haitians know Monsanto made the "Agent Orange" defoliant sprayed over Vietnam by US planes during the war there, poisoning both US soldiers and Vietnamese civilians?
Do Haitians know that these GM seeds have been declared dangerous by many countries? They often come in kits along with a Monsanto herbicide called "Roundup," which contains glyphosate. In my native Brittany, it has already polluted the water table. But Monsanto insists its product is biodegradable. It is being sued for this by anti-frauid officials in Lyon.'

Haitian Farmers Commit to Burning Monsanto Hybrid Seeds

Tags:SCIENCE/HEALTH/CLIMATE/NATURE

“A new earthquake” is what peasant farmer leader Chavannes Jean-Baptiste of the Peasant Movement of Papay (MPP) called the news that Monsanto will be donating 60,000 seed sacks (475 tons) of hybrid corn seeds and vegetable seeds, some of them treated with highly toxic pesticides. The MPP has committed to burning Monsanto’s seeds, and has called for a march to protest the corporation’s presence in Haiti on June 4, for World Environment Day.

Meanwhile, there are two questions I have. First, is the pesticide created by this corn linked to the bee colony collapse, and how much corn is included in the dog food manufactured by Menu Foods?
Monsanto's GM corn MON863 shows kidney, liver toxicity in animal studies

The corn doesn't create or produce the pesticide, it's just genetically modified to resist Monsanto's Roundup Ready pesticides and weed control products. So you can spray to your hearts content without harming the crop.

What's worrisome is that corn is in a lot of food products in the form of high-fructose corn syrup which some say is linked to an increase of diabetes over the years. It is also used as fuel to run cars in the form of ethanol.

The other thing that worries me is that I heard that pure unmodified corn seed no longer exists. The varieties of seed you can buy today are contaminated or modified in one way or another.

As for Haitian farmers burning Monsanto seed, good for them. Because I'm sure they realize that even if the seeds are free, the pesticides and weed control products that they need from Monsanto are not.

The more you look at the food supply, the more depressing it becomes.

Yea she sort of explained a lot of it to me but most is well beyond my (and probably most people)knowledge of biology. I think this is how Monsanto gets away with it. Most people do not understand the implications and do not have the time or desire to research it. All they want is something simple for dinner.

Consumption of high-fructose corn syrup, which is found in sweetened soda, has increased nearly 20-fold during the past 30 years, with average yearly intake of high-fructose corn syrup as an added sweetener approaching 62.4 pounds per person. The US Department of Agriculture estimates that regular soda and other sweetened beverages account for more than 70% of this intake.
In parallel with increasing rates of high-fructose corn syrup consumption, rates of obesity, metabolic syndrome, and chronic kidney disease have increased dramatically. Epidemiological surveys suggest an association between regular, but not diet, soda consumption and the frequency of hyperuricemia, and animal studies suggest that the metabolism of high-fructose corn syrup may lead to elevations in uric acid levels.
In the current study by Bomback and colleagues, the study authors assessed the effect of sugar-sweetened soda intake on the risk for hyperuricemia and reduced kidney function.

It is getting harder and harder to avoid products with fructose/sucrose ingredients these days. A quick perusal of labels will show that it is generally included in one form or another. One of the biggest problems is knowing all the different names that producers use in order to mask the appearance of 'sugar' in their products.

Sugar Has Many Disguises

· Agave Nectar
· Corn sweetener
· Corn syrup, or corn syrup solids
· Dehydrated Cane Juice
· Dextrin
· Dextrose
· Fructose
· Fruit juice concentrate
· Glucose
· High-fructose corn syrup
· Honey
· Invert sugar
· Lactose
· Maltodextrin
· Malt syrup
· Maltose
· Maple syrup
· Molasses
· Raw sugar
· Rice Syrup
· Saccharose
· Sorghum or sorghum syrup
· Sucrose
· Syrup
· Treacle
· Turbinado Sugar
· Xylose

Monsanto needs to be stopped before it's too late .

theres a lot of other **** that needs to be stopped as well, and very soon
what will it take to get the people moving, mate, an extinction even?, we have a possible one unfolding in the mexican gulf... we best hope it runs out soon, no one has mentioned whether the pressure had appeared to drop off............. or not
now we really do have a black sea......

the patent will not pass due to "prior art". Mother Nature has been doing this long before man learned to walk upright. Monstanto created a corn seed that is resistant to pesticides/herbicides. Mother Nature created a bacteria that is resistant to penicillin, or a virus that suddenly gained the ability to spread through the air.

When Mother Nature plays around with DNA, it's "mutated." When scientists play around with DNA, it's "engineered".

There is no difference.

Minister: Britain Will Open the Door to Frankenstein Food

Saturday, 05 June 2010 09:34

Genetically modified crops were last night given enthusiastic backing by the Environment Secretary.
