I lost my cable for three months and I discovered the radio and books was a good time waster.

According to news article I read some parts of Alberta Tim Horton’s employees get close to $18.00 an hour just because they can’t find enough workers to fill the demand.

Stay-at-home-moms with one-working-dad families vanished in the late 80's when costs of living started going up, but guys couldn't get raises fast enough to keep up with inflation, such that the wives all had to get jobs.

I know some rich republicans who hate Obamacare purely on the principal that they don't think their premiums should be applied towards caring for poor people.

When I told them that their premiums were already being used to level out the cost of medical care by virtue of the law of averages, they said they knew that, but it wasn't being applied to poor people... they only wanted to be on insurance plans with other rich people who didn't really need the insurance.

There's always going to be someone who pays the minimum wage. It's just a fact of life that there are some types of business that can't possibly pay more than minimum wage. For instance, where does the money come from to pay to the people who manage homeless shelters? What is their source of income?
