Way back in 1984, Madonna declared she was a “material girl, living in a material world.”
So, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that the pop superstar is in limelight again, but this time it’s not because of her music.
TikTok influencer Amelia M. Goldie has claimed in a new viral video that Madge Photoshopped her face onto Goldie’s body in a 2015 Instagram post she used to promote her Rebel Heart album.
“When Madonna posts a photo of herself to IG to promote her album but it’s actually your body (I’m not joking),” Goldie wrote in a TikTok post that has racked up over two million views.

Goldie told Buzzfeed that she “thought it was a joke” when she saw the picture, but quickly realized it wasn’t when she learned it appeared on Madonna’s official Instagram account.
“I look Kewl,” Madonna captioned the snap of herself wearing a Joy Division shirt and displaying a pouty snarl with the hashtag #rebelheart to promote the record’s release.
“I tried to reach out via Instagram to her team twice, to no response,” Goldie told the website. “I think if you’re going to play somebody else’s body off as your own, they deserve to be mentioned. But no hard feelings!”

Madonna hasn’t addressed the brewing controversy, but fans flooded the comments section of the old post.
“This is beyond embarrassing – how has she not deleted this yet? Yiiiiiikes,” one wrote, while another added, “I think this is the worst Photoshop job I’ve ever seen.”
Several others pointed out that the watermark from Goldie’s original image is visible in Madonna’s post.
“Maybe she thought we’d just know since it is very obvious that it’s Photoshopped,” one fan wrote defensively.
Goldie told Buzzfeed that she found it flattering that Madonna used her pic to help promote the album saying her song Hung Up “was on my teenage playlist for quite some years.”
“I’ve been told it’s a great ‘party flex,’ which makes me laugh,” Goldie said. “I told it at a job interview and they loved it.”
