Northern Gateway was rejected by the courts even though it was approved by Harper's phony council (which has since swiftly disbanded) and Kinder Morgan wasn't getting any acknowledgement. He didn't even try with Energy East and he couldn't get social license for Keystone XL.
Under Trudeau, 2 will likely get built and there is the possibility of Energy East.
Keystone XL likely won't happen because Trump suffers from Harper's failings and he will be fighting with Nebraska forever.

Rae wanted to `stimulate` the economy with borrowed money so that we would all have more, wanted to aid the disadvantaged and clean up the environment and all that noble and high minded stuff.
What he ended up with was credit trouble on a massive scale as lenders don’t like to loan to dorks who have no idea how they will repay what they want to borrow. Worried lenders also like to punish careless spenders with HIGHER credit charges...hoping to scare the careless (like The Boob and The Boy) into better discipline. The rich resented the foolish NDP/Rae attitude and moved their investment money to other places out of his reach. Corporations reacted badly to his ending of tax breaks and his raising of tax rates and also moved on to other places, taking their jobs with them.
Company closings and job loses sent welfare costs soaring as people turned to NDP govt for help-and that was help Rae really could not afford to give as his revenue stream was turning into a trickle. We ended up with hospitals with no nurses, no doctors, no beds, no patients. Trudope has assured us his first act as prime minister will be to reduce taxes on the `middle class`-by which he means civil servants. Yes, the public sector people who are already getting about one third MORE for the same work done by people in private sector will be getting a tax break while Trudope economically bombs the private sector corporate employers we ordinary people depend upon.
The Hogs also typically take THREE PAID sick days for every SINGLE sick day taken by a private sector worker.....and ordinary people often DON’T get paid for sick days! The Hogs also have clothing allowance, dental benefits, drug plans, eye glass plans and a wonderful pension plan so rich that ordinary people are NOT ALLOWED by LAW to invest so much so often in THEIR private RRSP’s! About 35% OF Cdns cannot afford to take any holiday while Hogs demand EVEN MORE!
Trudope will also cancel income splitting to further punish the private sector workers who so clearly dislike him and will use that money in a HOPELESS attempt to rebuild Bankrupt Hog pension plans. I am not surprised at all, I'm surprised the Liberals are even still on the board. They lie, raise taxes, past the stupidest motion ever written, buried us in debt, and are always trying to come up with ways to pull the wool over Canadians' eyes, but get caught every single time, because Canadians are much much smarter than the new bunch running Ottawa. Voters have short memories, so whether it's Wynne and her hydro fiasco, or Trudeau and his spending and legislation, people will forget much of it. The only things that will be important are what is discussed within about three months of the election.
If you have to do something that the people won't like, you do it early in your mandate. Wynne kept jacking hydro rates. Trudeau is spending like a drunken sailor. People will grumble, but forget.
To get re-elected, you save the things that you know grab people's interest in a good way, and make a bunch of promises just before the election. Legalizing marijuana. Tax cuts. Money for families or immigrants. Because of the voters aforementioned short memories, many will be fooled into thinking you're great. You'll get their vote.

When I read this my first thought was to wonder how things will change once they pick a new leader, then I remembered the Globe and Mail endorsed the Conservatives in the last election but specifically "the Conservative party but not Stephen Harper". Maybe Harper was what brought the Conservatives down. Rona Ambrose has so far been a good interim leader.
But I guess when you read this your mind went straight to mentalfloss and how it will effect him, or more accurately, how can you turn this into a petty jab at him.
