Trudeau says charity with ties to him and his wife 'only one' that could run COVID-19 student volunteer grant program
Sophie is on the board and is an ambassador of the organization, Trudie admits he volunteered many times for the organization, yeah nothing to see here pfft
As much as I like people sharing info, I find that it might be better to give a short version of what the article is about and then a link.

You expect way too much from spilled.
Trudeau 4 years of accomplishments????

Here’s a list
-Your minister of finance engaged in insider trading – should be a 10-year sentence.
You blew the Asia Pacific deal.
-You blew the helicopter deal with the Philippines.
-You blew the pipeline deal (he's now trying to save himself from it).
-You blew the deal with China.
-You blew the deal with Europe.
-You invited "irregular" immigration and the taxpayer foots the enormous bill for it.
You alienated the United States – our largest trading partner.
-At the G7 you pledged $400 million to Education around the world along with another $180 million to the Global Partnership for Education in Europe. None of it is going to fix our messed up school systems here at home. Meanwhile, education costs are skyrocketing for our youth making university a mountain too high for many to climb.
-You pledged $241 million to Family Planning around the world including a $20 million donation to the Bill and Hillary Clinton Foundation (because they have integrity!). This all happened while you told vets that they were asking too much.
-You pledged $2.65 billion to climate change at the Commonwealth Leaders Summit and now you’re trying to bully the provinces into new taxes to pay for this pledge.
-You pledged $300 million to the Rohingya Refugee crisis while we have a refugee crisis of our own flooding into Quebec that you won't address.
-You pledged $125 million to Caribbean Reconstruction while our own infrastructure in cities is falling apart.
-You pledged $650 million to Sexual and Reproductive health in Haiti and around the globe wanting safer abortions for women while many women in our own country are left without a family doctor.
-You pledged $50 million to Palestine for flood relief when NB had some of the worst floods in decades this past spring.
-You pledged $840 million to Syria for Humanitarian Assistance when half the native reserves in our country don't have clean drinking water.
-You gave $10.5 million to a convicted...CONVICTED terrorist in a backroom deal that has lead to another $30.8 million paid out for three others who say they were wrongfully detained.
-You spent $4.5 billion on a 65-year-old pipeline, and now the courts have ruled it shut down. Now it's back on (at a delay cost of $250 million) - a good investment for Canada you said? (And KM uses that money to build a pipeline in Texas)
-You pressured Jody Wilson Raybould repeatedly & INAPPROPRIATELY with several different high ranking officials to offer SNC Lavalin a DPA instead of prosecution for repeated & sustained corruption AFTER the former AG had determined they were ineligible for such a deal. You lied about the above having ever taken place.
-You replaced Canada’s old F-18s with Australia’s old F-18s.
-Your bizarre love of all things Castro.
-You imposed tough regulations and taxes on oil from Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland but not oil from Saudi Arabia.
-Every new project has to undergo strict environmental assessments...except cement plants in Quebec.
-You said that a proposed pipeline must consider “the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors” (what does that even mean???)
-You think older Canadians should be replaced. How is that moral?
You chase foreign companies (and their investment capital) out of the country like they have the plague.
-You chased our WW1 soldiers out of our national anthem... lest we forget.
You continuously use identity politics...then complain about identity politics.
-You forgot Alberta was a province.
-You called small business owners “tax cheats”.
-People voice concern over money spent on illegal immigration and you call them intolerant racists.
-We have an equalization program, but you give half of it to one province.
-You spent $8 million on a skating rink (vanity project) when Canada's largest skating rink is 500 meters -away.
You added tens of billions added to the national debt while lying to Canada's face about it.
-You groped a woman and when caught - laughed about it (MacLean's interview) and said she experienced it differently.
-You elbowed a female MP while dragging another MP by -the arm in a petulant huff.
You renamed Fishermen to "Fisher-folk"
-Peoplekind? (international embarrassment)
-You got India to invest $250 million in Canada but we have to invest $750 million in India first.
-You compared returning ISIS terrorists to Italian immigrants and said they will be an extraordinarily powerful voice for Canada.
You let terrorists keep their Canadian citizenship.
-You spent $212,234 on the artwork for the cover of the 2017 budget report.
-You think Canada is 100 years old instead of 150.
-You spent upwards to $348,000 on food and alcohol in five flights on our government’s plane. On your G20 trip to Argentina, you spent $103,000 on food and alcohol alone. How is that even possible?
-You gave Canadian taxpayers' money to Hamas.
You voice outrage over fake racist attacks and say nothing about real terrorist attacks.
-You took 10 vacations in a single year. Who does this??
-You spent a little over $1.5 million on the trip to India that did nothing but worsen ties. Plus paid over $17,000 to bring an Indian chef to India to cook Indian cuisine. And to top it off, invited a convicted attempted assassin to a diner and posed for pics with him.
-And you’re the only PM convicted of ethics violations. (multiple times in fact)
You allegedly destroyed the career of one of Canada’s honest military leaders to cover up possible massive corruption in shipbuilding contracts.
-You invited Joshua Boyle, an alleged perpetrator of sexual assault and unlawful confinement for a photoshoot in the Office of the Prime Minister.
-You threaten to sue the leader of the opposition then chicken out when you realized that your alleged crimes will be exposed in court.
-You offer over $600 million dollars in subsidies to failing mainstream media outlets if they can prove to be trustworthy. You put a union who vows to destroy your opposition in charge of selecting these new “trusted” sources to receive funding. You could school the Russians in election interference.
-You pay off your friends to engage in election ads for you and get Elections Canada to pay for it.
$200 million to Loblaws for new refrigerators.
-You made public statements of deep admiration for Chinese communism.
-You wore preposterous, inappropriate costumes during a state visit to India, paid for by Canadians.
What moral, functioning Canadian human could possibly justify voting for you?
A new order paper response shows that the Kielburgers' WE Organization wasn't the only Liberal-linked charity getting rich off the backs of taxpayers under Justin Trudeau's watch.
The World Wildlife Fund, the foreign-funded so-called environmental charity once headed up by Gerald Butts, has received millions of dollars from the Liberal government over the last four years.
The WWF was previously a recipient of funding from the Tides Foundation, the environmental charity clearinghouse that uses smaller grants to smaller organizations to landlock Canadian oil and gas.
The order paper question from Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant (Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke) asked:
With regard to government grants contributions and contracts since January 1st 2016, what are the details of all grants, contributions or contracts given to the World Wildlife Fund or its international affiliates?
Here’s what was uncovered:
The WWF received $24,000 from Canadian Heritage as part of the “Canada 150” grant program to “connect with nature and create streetscapes” in Windsor, Ontario.
A whopping $1,000,000 flowed from Environment and Climate Change Canada and associated agencies to the WWF; $40,000 of that went to the WWF in Chile for “integrated conservation action.”
Environment and Climate Change, through the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, paid the WWF to participate in regional meetings about several offshore drilling projects, including the Tilt Cove exploration drilling project and West Flemish Pass exploration drilling project.
The WWF has a long history of anti-offshore drilling activism, which of course is exactly why the Liberals paid them for “consulting.”
In short: the DFO paid a total of $4 million to the World Wildlife Fund over the course of four years.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) says Justin Trudeau has "full confidence" in the federal finance minister after a recent news report suggested Trudeau was uncertain Bill Morneau remains the right person for the powerful cabinet position.
Citing unnamed inside sources, The Globe and Mail reported on Monday that the prime minister isn't committed to keeping Morneau in the finance portfolio following some clashes over policies crafted during the government's coronavirus pandemic response.
Asked about the claims on Tuesday, the PMO defended Morneau's performance before and during the global pandemic, saying the Toronto MP "played a lead role" in the creation of Canada's main COVID-19 income support program and the wage subsidy program for businesses.
"Of course the Prime Minister has full confidence in Minister Morneau and any statement to the contrary is false," Cameron Ahmad, Trudeau's communications director, said in a written statement.
"The Prime Minister knows that Minister Morneau and the entire team of cabinet ministers will keep doing the work that Canadians rely on to get them through this pandemic."
The Globe and Mail's report came after Bloomberg reported earlier Monday that Trudeau had recruited former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney as an "informal adviser" on policy matters as Canada tries to recover from the economic shock dealt by the spread of the coronavirus.
Sources told the Globe and Mail that the prime minister had relied on Carney — who also served as governor of the Bank of England from 2013 to 2020 — during the lockdown for "informal policy advice."
The PMO was also taken aback by Morneau's recent revelation that he repaid $41,000 in travel-related expenses to WE Charity, the group at the centre of an ongoing political controversy over the delivery of a massive student volunteer grant program, according to the Globe's sources.
Both Trudeau and Morneau are being investigated by the federal ethics watchdog for possibly violating conflict-of-interest rules in the WE affair.
The Globe's report claimed Morneau has said privately that he would leave politics early if he could no longer serve as federal finance minister.
Global News asked Morneau’s office if he is resigning or considering leaving politics. The answer, provided by a spokesperson, was "no."
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer appeared to reference the Globe's reporting as he addressed the WE affair and the Liberal government's performance during a press conference on Tuesday, claiming "it's clear the Liberals are going to try and invent some kind of policy excuse if they do make a change."
"Justin Trudeau's going to try to invent some kind of a conflict. We all know though that it's not only Mr. Morneau's scandalous ethics problems, but also the prime minister's himself," Scheer said.
"And it really doesn't matter — making a trade for Bill Morneau when you've got a prime minister that has such a lack of ethics, embroiled in so many scandals."
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau scolded Conservative leader Erin O’Toole over “COVID misinformation” in a telephone call on Friday afternoon, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. Except the call hadn’t happened.
According to a “readout” of the “call” sent at 4.34 p.m. by the PMO, Trudeau updated O’Toole on several issues. Then, “the Prime Minister also raised concerns around COVID-19 misinformation being promoted by Conservative Members of Parliament, given Conservative MPs recently downplayed the deaths of Canadians in Alberta due to COVID-19 and compared COVID-19 to the flu.”
Shortly afterwards, Melanie Paradis, director of communications for O’Toole, tweeted, “This is awkward. The call isn’t until 5.15pm today,” adding that she was at that moment sitting with the Conservative leader.
Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner also posted, “I was literally just sitting with @erinotoole and can verify he was not on the phone with @JustinTrudeau.”
Other parliamentarians were more scathing of the premature release.
“This is truly the most deceitful government this country has ever had,” said Quebec senator Leo Housakos. “And Justin Trudeau is truly the most deceitful Prime Minister. They are constantly focused on propaganda rather than dealing honourably in the manner befitting the office he holds.”
The alleged misinformation centred on a Toronto Sun story that revealed that data from the Alberta government showed that 76.3 per cent of people who had died of COVID-19 in the province were dealing with three or more underlying conditions.
“Only 2.3% of deaths – 11 people – were otherwise healthy persons, dying without any underlying conditions. And those 11 include people who were very advanced in age,” said the Sun story.
Alberta Conservative MP Rachael Harder later posted the column on her Facebook page, prompting Patty Hajdu, the health minister, to accuse the Conservatives in the House of Commons of spreading “fake” and “dangerous” misinformation.
The readout put out by the PMO said, “Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Leader of the Opposition Erin O’Toole. The Prime Minister updated Mr. O’Toole on President-elect Biden’s incoming administration. The Prime Minister highlighted our priority of fighting COVID-19, as well as several key issues and opportunities including climate change, trade, NATO, support for Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, the Keystone XL project, and Buy America, which the Prime Minister raised in his conversation with the President-elect.”
The PMO later confirmed the readout was sent out because of “a mistake by staff.”
Before the call between the two leaders, O’Toole sent a letter to Trudeau outlining his priorities. The letter touched on many of the issues raised by the readout including COVID being the top priority.
However, after COVID O’Toole said dealing with the threat posed by China was the next major issue, and Canada should seek to join an existing dialogue among the U.S., Australia, India and Japan to oppose Chinese military expansionism.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's attempt to call out the Conservative Party for promoting misinformation about COVID-19 stumbled tonight when PMO staff sent out a draft statement that itself contained misinformation.
Trudeau and Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole had a call scheduled for this evening. The usual practice after these calls is for both parties to put out a statement — a "readout" — describing what was discussed during the call.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. this evening, the Prime Minister's Office issued just such a note saying Trudeau "raised concerns around COVID-19 misinformation being promoted by Conservative members of Parliament, given Conservative MPs recently downplayed the deaths of Canadians in Alberta due to COVID-19 and compared COVID-19 to the flu."
The call with O'Toole was not scheduled to take place until 5:15 p.m.
Peter MacKay's former director of communications director Michael Diamond saw the message and was quick to retweet out an image of part of the statement with the caption, "Why is the PMO pushing out misinformation? This is very concerning."
The premature press statement also said the pair spoke about U.S. president-elect Joe Biden's incoming administration, the fight against COVID-19, climate change, trade, NATO, support for Canadian detainees Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor in China, the Keystone XL project and the Buy America policy.
A spokesperson for the PMO told CBC that staff typically draft a readout before the call to act as a placeholder, updating it once the meeting is over.
The spokesperson said a member of the prime minister's staff accidentally sent out the draft readout early.
Later in the evening, the PMO sent out an edited readout saying the two leaders talked about the issues mentioned in the premature statement. It made no mention of Trudeau chastising O'Toole over misinformation, however.
After the call, O'Toole's office put out a statement describing the discussion — which touched on many of the subjects the PMO mentioned in its premature statement earlier in the evening.
O'Toole's statement also mentioned a call for Trudeau to work harder to counteract China's recent acts of aggression and the Conservatives' disappointment with the prime minister's efforts to date.
On the climate front, the Conservative leader's readout expressed a willingness to support "net zero legislation" providing it supports Canada's energy industry.
