RESPONSE: I hope you are right, that the Kurds will have peace and freedom and self-determination, but it is very unlikely. The best oil reserves are under traditional Kurdish land. I do not believe that the U.S. Government is going to allow a Kurdish group any real say in the allottment of that oil. Turkey is very concerned that the Kurds do no gain any political power or they will strike. The Turks have long abused the kurds within their own country.
