When the music’s played for a purpose, it’s hard to disappoint.

But the artists who came together at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium Sunday night to help rebuild Alberta put on a stellar show for fans and supporters, regardless of the reason.

It was a full roster of performers, from country stars Paul Brandt, Michelle Wright, Dean Brody and Carolyn Dawn Johnson to Juno-award-winning Inuk singer-songwriter Susan Aglukark and Alberta artists Livy Jeanne and Brett Kissel, who all played their hearts out to benefit the Calgary Foundation’s Flood Rebuilding Fund.

Broadcast live, the Halo High Water benefit concert and telethon was fast-paced with eager artists playing just a song or two each and video clips or presenters — including pro-athletes, actors, politicians and dignitaries — giving brief breaks between the rapid-fire sets.
