Earthquake rattles Alberta : Frack the Fracking Frackers
The Geological Survey of Canada is reporting an earthquake in Rocky Mountain House Tuesday morning.
The 3.5-magnitude quake was centered about seven kilometres northwest of the town and hit just after 8:30 a.m.
Honn Kao with the GSC said it’s not the first quake in that part of the province.
“This particular area has had seismic activity in the past, so in fact that we have had an earthquake in this area is not a surprise to us,” Kao said.
He added they’ve had about a dozen reports of people actually feeling the earthquake, but no one’s told them of any damage and he wouldn’t expect any.
Kao said there could be aftershocks, but they’d be so small that most wouldn’t feel them.
