Corporate mergers have certainly not done the news services any favours; at least not so far as accuracy and the coverage of major stories is concerned. Sadly, news coverage in the US is more along the order of entertainment than news.

I will say that I do prefer the CBC to CNN any day of the week. I especially enjoy Robyn Urbacks articles and honest style. Neil and Don are hit and miss but overall I enjoy them all.

I also do enjoy the CBC articles and the comment section but I'd like to see a comment section for all articles and not just a select few. The reason why I think this is because when I read all local news from CBC the articles are always open for comments. And sadly this doesn't translate the same to select articles pertaining to the whole country.

Vile and hateful, which is why most of them are closed or moderated.

The moderated part it necessary for sure. Slander/hate speech and docing people's personal info shouldn't be encouraged.

But if the venom is legal then people should see it because in my opinion it shows us a brutal honesty that we have to confront.
