Privy Council Office hires private firm to review harassment claims at Rideau Hall

Payette claims she requested the independent review, but the PCO said ah, no you didn't

Payette has said she takes "workplace harassment issues very seriously" and tweeted she "requested ... an independent review." But the PCO said it initiated the review.

"PCO, with the support of the OSGG, has initiated a thorough, independent and impartial workplace review to examine the concerns raised by past and current employees," Privy Council spokesperson Pierre-Alain Bujold wrote in a statement......More

Wow.

Which part bothers you the most??

that she is a she??
that she is a liberal??
That she is "entitled"??
Or that she throws temper tantrums ;-)

With the exception of gender, those traits are pretty much intertwined. Hard to find a Liberal that doesn't feel completely entitled, or that gets triggered at the drop of a hat. Ask Ruth Ellen Brosseau about Liberal temper tantrums.

Temper tantrums m sense of entitlement etc are not a political issue. They are a human character issue.

Weird that they seem to be particular character issues shared by an overwhelming majority of people who also share Liberal ideology.

What bothers me most is that from the beginning of her tenure she sucked at the job and now is bringing shame on the position.

When those 'temper tantrums' are directed at staff of the GG of Canada, they are most certainly of political interest. She is not some backbench nobody.

One needs to take advantage of the chaos & that's what this family is doing. Everyone (supposedly) "hates" the police (not true) so naturally, the cops are responsible for her death - doesn't matter what the witnesses say! Asinine!

Just one of many problems associated with hiring on quota instead of merit.
Who knew that a space cadet would turn out to be just that.

When first I heard of her appointment as GG, and knowing little or nothing about her except that she was an ex-astronaut, I didn't see any problem with it. Then articles started to appear about the Maryland abuse allegations - the truth of which still remain murky. Next, a story broke about Payette being involved in a vehicle collision that killed the driver of the other car who was subsequently found to be at fault. This was just prior to the abuse allegations. Those stories gave me pause but then came a series of negative articles which completely changed my mind about her suitability as GG.

"From the earliest reports of Payette’s tenure, they painted a picture of a rebellious governor general, who’s uniquely uninterested in a ceremonial job, and balked over her role as a passive rubber-stamper for the government.

Ever since, it has been a cascade of negative press: she’s refused to move in to the official residence in Ottawa, preferring to live at her cottage in Quebec or another guesthouse in the capital — even as some $250,000 has been spent on renovating Rideau Hall.

She’s super-private, doesn’t like being in the public eye.

She’s not appeared at the occasional event she’s expected at, has reportedly done her darnedest to evade her RCMP security team, and has allegedly presided over a toxic and unpleasant work environment in her office, which is now subject to a review by the Privy Council Office."

"Governor-General Julie Payette has been frequently at odds with the RCMP over security issues in the first year of her mandate, from her decision to go jogging without informing her protective detail to the fact that she lives off the protected grounds of Rideau Hall, current and former RCMP sources say."

"Payette's secrecy and resistance to working with the RCMP routinely sends her protective detail scrambling to fulfil last-minute requests and drives up spending on overtime, hotel and plane tickets, multiple sources told CBC News."

One really has to wonder why this liberal government has such a problem with proper protocol when vetting appointments and their inability to do due diligence.

To the liberals vetting means their membership dues are paid up and making regular taxdeductible donations to the party.

This dangerously under qualified woman-child bullied, cajoled and abused her staff resulting in multiple resignations and complaints to the point that even trudie has brought in a 3rd party to review her abusive and childish behavior.

So, to answer your sophomoric question, what is most bothersome are the useful idiots that attempt to defend the indefensible and miss the big picture (ie glaringly huge) all together
