To complicated for most to understand.
Your talking about the big picture.

And which big picture is that? That Afghanistan has been a hellhole since the Soviets invaded? That the West turned our collective backs once our proxy war against the Soviets was won and some of the people we trained & equipped went power-mad and created a repressive regime where Ocean Breeze wouldn't be allowed to express an opinion if she lived in it and neither would most of the rest of us, without armed back-up? That these same people would lash out and kill thousands of our civilians in what is essentially a gigantic tantrum of resentment, thus triggering us to strike back?

Or is your version of the big picture a paranoid conspiracist rant about big business wanting a war?

I guess the pro War propaganda really is working on you if you belive that. Ocean Breeze is pro Peace

Just because someone thinks that pro-Peace is naive (if still laudable on some levels) doesn't mean the "pro-War propaganda" has gained sway as opposed to an acceptance of an ugly reality.

There is nothing we can do to control someone that decide's to cause us harm. The motive behind the attacks could be from many diffrent source. The only control we have is how we react to them. If you think hiting them back is going to solve this situation. Your the one that needs a reality check.

But we know why the attacks happened: all thats left is for us to decide how we react. And the options for that reaction are accept their attacks as our just deserts, and the people who died in New York, Bali, London, Spain and other places deserved what they got, or to react in a manner that says we do not accept them as just and tries to prevent further attacks from happening.

we don't have to all agree on everything. get over it.

You were the one saying people need a reality check... Hi pot, meet kettle...

We throw a good tentrum of resentment when we get attacked. the same as them.

All thats left is for us to decide how we react. And the options for that reaction are accept their attacks as our just deserts, and the people who died in New York, Bali, London, Spain and other places deserved what they got, or to react in a manner that says we do not accept them as just and tries to prevent further attacks from happening....

And when we kill Innocent people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, and the others I may not know,Trying to prevent further attacks from happening How should they react? By throwing a resentment tantrum?

This War is self fueling. It will never end. We could have the making of the next World War.

You were the one saying people need a reality check... Hi pot, meet kettle...

We could all use a reality check. I think our life style and our society warp's all of us everyday.
But that's a whole other can of bean's.

It's polite to laugh at a joke....
and that's what you and breezy are...:p

If your not worth a laugh, your not worth much.

Nice back pedal.

Nice try. #4 http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tinfoil+hat

This from a guy who believes that we zapped Libya because their dictator wanted to give Africa a satellite.

Can you tell me why we Zapped Libya?

Really? I thought I was pointing how absolutely moronic she was.

Can you point out what Ocean Breeze said that was moronic?

We are involved in a war against and insurgency that is a group of terrorists that strike and
run. They could never take the pounding of an all out frontal assault so it is hit and run. I
still believe the citizens are better off now than when this thing started. There are schools
and a beginning of a society. We need to build a society in that country as they have only
known tribalism for centuries. Once you establish a societal view, the old ways of continuous
war will begin to ebb.
As the women and girls who get education which system they would like to live under. Hands
down, they would chose the west over the Taliban. Ask the children which system they would
prefer, They now get a real education instead of reciting the Koran over and over again.
nope we did the right thing here and we should remain until we build a better place, that is now
slowly taking shape. I do agree we have to ensure the corruption ends and the present
leadership has to go as well but the concept is good.

EXACTLY. But most don't see that. They only see who shot who and that is a very narrow view indeed.

I used a different language to say the same thing. when I said that "terrorism" is a gift that keeps on giving. A war loving nation wanted a war......maybe even NEEDED a war for whatever reason (be it more control over a larger portion of the planet, be it more control , influence over the natural resources ( remember just who the resource hog is on this planet), be it to assert their shrinking superiority again , be it your basic human instinct of revenge, or even a hatred of a certain group of brown people who happened to reside on much of the earths' wealth.)

along comes that event that could give said nation all kinds of added power to do as it wanted on the grounds of " fighiting terrorism ". and the rest is , as they say "history". In a decade there has been US involvement, ( military action or other forms of "ops" ) in more countries than one can keep track of. The difference from before is that now it is bolder in its aggression. and lawless ness.

so here we are ten years later and the death toll continues to rise . people go through the motions of feeling regret, sadness and yet DO NOTHING TO FASCILIATE STOPPING these military interventions. In fact from all appearances.....the ones involved are digging in further for an "indefinate" stay.

the psychology of this (at least in part) is that people climatize to a war like environment. the Nation that starts these protracted wars on a multiple level gets used to it as an every day situation. Humans ADAPT..... and that is a good thing but can also be taken advantage of by the powers that be as they endeavor upon a chronic war state. With this adaptation comes a hardened attitude towards death from these wars . They are part of war and are accepted as such. That is another "adaptation"

Another 'adaptation" or learned behavior is : people tolerate human atrocities during 'war" that they never would in a non war state. Ergo....political leaders who are prone to aggressive solutions KNOW THE ADVANTAGES OF HAVING THEIR NATION IN A CHRONIC STATE OF WAR........as besides the fact mentioned, it also gives the leadership additional POWERS that would not be acceptable in a non war state.

One could theorize that we are in WW3 now... and that it began like a cancer and is spreading like a cancer , and because there is no "cure' in sight......will spread until folks wake up and realize what has happened and is happening ......but it will be too late.

In addition to that .......there is no set formula for defining a war. and for all intents and purposes the world is at war. The parties have been defined very loosely .......and that is intentional.......as this is the most devious of wars to date. It is taking place on the INTERNATIONAL STAGE.

We are involved in a war against and insurgency that is a group of terrorists that strike and
run. They could never take the pounding of an all out frontal assault so it is hit and run. I

IMHO..........There is a LOT more to it than what you indicate......but what you say are componants of a larger picture.

T.slave: thanks for the thumbs down. from you , that is a compliment

Which shows just how far divorced from reality you are.

depends on who's 'reality" you are speaking about.;-)

thanks for the feedback.
