Doomsday will be after about 2000 years. The earth will stop its axial rotation after about 1000 years from the present time.
But of course time is getting more and more near to Doomsday.
And many things will occur in this period of time.

NASA refutes Christian claims that the blood moon on September 28 will cause end of world

That's not a headline from The Onion. There are, in fact, a few rapture enthusiasts who think the end of the world is nigh due to a lunar eclipse coming later this month:

The ‘blood moon’ is the fourth and final eclipse in a tetrad — four consecutive total lunar eclipses, each separated by six lunar months — which fulfills biblical prophecy of the apocalypse. ... “NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small,” said a NASA spokesman in comments reported by Yahoo News. “In fact, as best as we can tell, no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years.”

Well, that's reassuring. And while the end of the world may not be nigh, depending on where you are and how clear the skies may be, those of you in North and South America might have a great view of the event after sunset on Sept 27.

When promoting his 2013 book Four Blood Moons, Cornerstone Church founder John Hagee, of San Antonio, Texas, said that the tetrad was a signal being sent by God.

“The coming four blood moons points to a world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015,” he said.

Hagee, whose book was the ninth biggest seller in the US in March last year, and El Shaddai Ministries’ Pastor Mark Blitz claim that the blood moon on September 28 heralds the end of the world and the second coming

They, and others, cite passages from the Bible to justify their fears.

Earth's rotation slows down at 1.7 milliseconds every 100 years. At that rate, Earth will stop spinning some 1.9 trillion years in the future. And that is long after our sun goes red giant and bakes the planet into a charcoal briquet (about 5 billion years from now).

Besides, selfsame, what the hell do you expect anyone to do about it anyways, even if your BS were true.

Yeah, but hey, it'd make for a good disaster movie out of Hollyweird, right?

I'm quite sure you're talking scientism. You must know that rotation is subject to Solar output which is variable. Without that taken into account your number is an wild guess at best. And the red giant thing is also to be lumped under the same scientism heading. As long as it's feed lines to the interstellar regions is maintained it glows. It certainly may get bigger or smaller but system spacing has kept up thus far and we know that to be factual cuz we is still here after an entirely underdermined time. It's not burning and it won't run out of fuel. The supply line is infinite. Of course we do see stars popping every once in a while.
Just like a fuse.

Anyway that's what I read.

The slowdown is moon based then once the moon is gone the slowing down should start.
Option 2. The slowdown is like a figure skater in a standing spin. Arms out the rotation is slow (as in the rifts are expanding faster than subduction happens) and when the earth was a smaller diameter it was able to spin faster. If they rotation is 'slowing' then the earth is still expanding, once it starts to shrink back down it start to spin faster. Elementary.

Movie disaster: comet spotted a long way off: comet keeps getting bigger: bigger: turns into galaxy coming at close to light speed and while it is a spot in the sky at first it 'apparent' growth as it stretches from horizon to horizon and then some as it approaches at close to the speed of light.

Movie disaster: the ice at the north and south poles creates a super wave in the Atlantic that meets at the entrance to the Med Sea. Wave is a mile tall.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

And angular velocity is different from rotational velocity.Either way, if the rotational velocity is slowing, it is slowing.

Hello guys , i came back ... what's going on at here ?
