What EB said...

The PQ is separatist, but democratic. If Quebec is part of Canada, it deals with the federal government as any other province does (except with a little edge)...

No because the PQ had to make deals with the federal toowhen they had thier chance.

Duceppe did it from a Federal chair - and stepped in with Liberals to do it.

Charest surprises me. I can't remember any other politician who went from Federal to Provincial politics who did well. He even changed parties along the way.

I have come to the conclusion that Canadians are different than Americans, you have "Food Police". Why do we allow our vocal minorities to tell us what is best for all of us.

No KFC Double Down for Canada

By QMI Agency Bad news for those whose mouths were watering at the sight of cheese, sauce and bacon sandwiched between two breaded chicken filets and who were just waiting until the moment they could take their first bite - you'll have to go south of the border....

What is with this, a supposedly FREE country telling you that you cannot have a "KFC Double Down". It is time to add the KFC Lovers party to your list of political parties, then vote them into power. It is just amazing the lengths that the Liberals will go to steal power from the people.

Does this have anything to do with this thread?

Okay, a few misconceptions (and misinformation) to clear up here.

I have come to the conclusion that Canadians are different than Americans, you have "Food Police". Why do we allow our vocal minorities to tell us what is best for all of us.
It appears, based on the article that you posted, that the decision not to market the ‘Double Down’ in Canada was actually a decision of KFC Canada, and not of any ‘food police’, or any department of Her Majesty’s Government for Canada. KFC Canada is a business; if they feel that this product doesn’t have the right clientèle here, then they aren’t going to sell it. It really is that simple.

What is with this, a supposedly FREE country telling you that you cannot have a "KFC Double Down". It is time to add the KFC Lovers party to your list of political parties, then vote them into power. It is just amazing the lengths that the Liberals will go to steal power from the people.
Once more, this was not a political decision, and it certainly had nothing at all to do with the Liberal Party of Canada. It was a business decision at the planning stage on the part of KFC Canada. Nonetheless, I’ll be sure to pass you a brand new box of aluminium foil and a packet of red Kool-Aid. There, there.

Well the pots is starting to have a little bit of a boil to it. I am sure that many more will face corruption charges.

As deals are cut to lessen sentences in exchange for les grand poissons

How long before an Inquiry is announced -

A few more charges laid and voila it may appear

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/quebec/ex-mayor-of-montreal-borough-charged-in-quebec-corruption-probe/article1547381/

A former Montreal-area mayor was among three people charged Monday as a major Quebec corruption probe made its biggest arrests.

The accused included Stéphane Harbour, the former mayor of the Montreal borough of Outremont. The men face a variety of charges including fraud, breach of trust, falsifying documents and conspiracy.Mr. Harbour, who resigned as Outremont's mayor in 2007 after a spending scandal, faces nine charges.

Two high-ranking municipal colleagues, Yves Mailhot and Jean-Claude Patenaude, face more charges.Police say the alleged crimes occurred between 2005 and 2008. A spokesman for the provincial police, the Sûreté du Québec, said a tip from a municipal councillor led to the arrests.

The accused, who were freed on bail, are to appear in court May 6.Quebec has been rocked by allegations of criminal collusion in a scandal that involves the construction industry, politicians and the Mafia.

There are allegations construction companies have been colluding to inflate the cost of public-works projects, threatening competitors and sharing profits with the Mob.Allegations have also surfaced of construction firms breaking political fundraising laws by stuffing political party coffers.

Premier Jean Charest's refusal to call a public inquiry is one of the reasons his popularity has taken a beating since last year.Mr. Charest did, in the fall, call a provincial police probe — nicknamed Operation Hammer — which resulted in Monday's arrests.

The probe netted its first arrest last week.Mr. Harbour resigned in 2007 as mayor of Outremont, a wealthy neighbourhood at the foot of Mount Royal, near Montreal's core.

He stepped down after an auditor's report raised questions about the borough's spending practices. There was also a controversy over the use of public money to buy alcohol.
