One thing I think does give cause for concern is that the government couldn't address what makes Canada's current modus operandi different from the American/NGO arrangement that resulted in blurred lines, mass confusion and significant withdrawal of on-the-ground NGO support due to the risks it created. If the government is so concerned about our troops they should have at least been able to speak to that particular issue enough to demonstrate reasonable competence instead of persistenty banging their "how dare you ask!!!" bully-bluster drum.
