Nearly six months after his shocking passing, Austin Powers actor Verne Troyer’s cause of death has finally been revealed, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
In a statement to Radar, the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner stated the star known as “Mini-Me” died from a “sequelae of alcohol intoxication” earlier this year.
“The manner of death was certified as a suicide,” the coroner added.
In the full coroner’s report obtained exclusively obtained by Radar, the medical examiner claimed the star suffered from “suicidal ideations,” “depression” and “chronic alcohol use” before taking his own life.
Post-mortem toxicology testing was not performed due to “prolonged hospitalization,” the report stated.
Troyer was just 49 years old when he died on April 21. As Radar previously reported, the actor was rushed from his North Hollywood home to a Van Nuys hospital for a medical emergency on April 3.
He struggled with addiction for years before his death, and spent multiple stints in rehab.
