And as far as pensions and such go what happens to Albertans who retire to BC?

Will they need private insurance?

Nobody wants to retire in the prairies ffs

Buffalo

Separated at birth, how two provinces have now reunited in alienation

Sir Frederick Haultain, the first premier of the North-West Territories, argued the territory that went on to become the two provinces in 1905 should enter Confederation as one province named Buffalo — an idea Sir Wilfrid Laurier rejected.
As former Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says, "It's on the record, maybe quite prescient, that the province, if it was admitted as recommended, would rival the centre for economic and political influence."...………...More

I found this blurb kinda interesting too

In 1803 the Louisiana Purchase transferred from France to the United States part of what is now Alberta and Saskatchewan. In 1818 it was ceded to the United Kingdom. Most of what is now Saskatchewan was part of Rupert's Land and controlled by the Hudson's Bay Company, which claimed rights to all watersheds flowing into Hudson Bay, including the Saskatchewan River.

So it wouldn't be joining the US, it would be reunifying with the US

The East is coming after Western pension funds. Have you heard about the kerfuffle at FCL Refinery with Unifor? Unifor want to take over the FCL Pension funds. CO-OP says no f-cking way and is going to lock them out.

Part of me says let them take it... Once they fukk up the fund, the union will have it's legs cut out from under it

Pretty soon pensions are going to be all seriously screwed because of negative interest rates.

WE will be part of the new Western country so it won't matter. Your pension goes with you regardless of what part of the world you retire in.

It won't matter as there will be no separation

A new poll suggests Alberta is the province that most wants to separate from Canada — not Quebec
