Since you recognize your long history of international interference and coersion you obviously recognize why all this happened to begin with.
I have also seen a couple of posts now refering to how the Taliban were asked to turn him over. Well let's make sure we understand what the truth of that was.
1. The Taliban, no matter what you may think of them, were the legitimate and recognized government of a sovereign nation.
2. They agreed to assist in finding him and turn him over if
3. The US could show some real evidence of his involvement in 9/11.
They only wanted to see documents showing he A) funded the operation, B) communicated with the supposed hijackers or C) had any known contact with the supposed hijackers.
Instead of showing any of this to the Taliban or even the general public G W Bush announced that they had lots of evidence and then proceeded to invade the country. To this day there has been no evidence as noted above or even intelligence reports delivered to anyone or shown to the public to confirm OBL was involved. The only thing that actually supports this theory is the word of Bush and his staff and I don't believe what he tells me if his tongue was notarized.
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying there was no connection possible, I am saying there has been no hard evidence produced to back up the claim.
