GREAT FALLS, Mont. — A Canadian woman has given birth to a rare set of identical quadruplets at a Great Falls hospital.
Karen Jepp of Calgary, Alberta, delivered the girls— Autumn, Brooke, Calissa and Dahlia — on Sunday afternoon.
The chances of giving birth to identical quads is one in 13 million.
Benefis Healthcare officials say all four are in good condition and are breathing without ventilators.
The babies were delivered by caesarian at 31 weeks.
Dahlia is the smallest, weighing two pounds six ounces at birth. Autumn is the largest and weighed two pounds 15 ounces.
Two of the babies will be moved Thursday to a hospital in Calgary today.
Their doctor says the other two may be transferred tomorrow.
Karen and J.P. Jepp also have a two-year-old son, Simon.
J.P. works for Shell Oil's renewable energy operation.

Lucky family that they were able to maintain the pregnancy so long and the babies were a good size

2 lbs sounds tiny, even so. I Can't imagine 4 babies all at once. I can barely come to terms with the one.

It's all relative I guess. The smallest baby I've looked after was 395gms. 2lbs for a multiple birth isn't bad. A singleton at that gestational age would probably be bigger, but it isn't bad for one of a quad set at all.

Yes but she had to be sent to the US to deliver as Foothills Hospital was over crowded. Nice if they had been born in Canada.
