Well Soc... are you going to push to get Canada involved?

The only way Africa can bring it self from the ages of pillage and genocide would be if Africa became a nation of it own with a legitimate government governing all states like the US. Canada could never be of the help needed to correct the wide range of corruption that has plagued Africa. I wish some one can help the humanity in Africa who is vulnerable.

Just whine, and blame the republicans, we could say that they inherited the mess from Bush. That should keep the left happy, then they can get back to flying private jets here and there to stop "climate change".

Yes I can see how nations like Libya, Egypt, Rwanda, South Africa, Angola etc would have so much in common to become one nation.

If nothing else, the latest news has made clear the idiocy of the notion of "International Law" and the International Criminal Court......which just put the label on the President of Sudan as a "wanted" man......

The reaction in Sudan was to kick out all western NGO aid.......in other words, to destroy the lifeline of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Sudanese.....

I have to wonder.....considering the fact that many here would blame the USA for all the "hundreds of thousands" of sectarian deaths in Iraq, because if the USA had done nothing in Iraq, they wouldn't have happened, therefore they are "indirectly" responsible for crimes against humanity.....and want G W Bush tried for war crimes....

By the same token, should not the ICC now, not "indirectly" responsible for what will undoubtedly be the deaths of a huge number of Sudanese, who would have lived if the ICC had done nothing, should the ICC not issue a warrant for themselves as guilty of war crimes????

Don't hold your breath.

And, BTW, if you want the horror in Darfur to end, raise a "coalition of the willing", invade the place, drag the President out of his Palace, and shoot him once behind the ear on the front street, in public.

get sensible.

Ha Ha. Nah... they would rather just complain of inaction rather than do something.

Nobody wants to touch Dafur because Africa is a complete mess and the only way to clean it up is to kill a lot of bad guys. Then the natural course of these events will begin with accusing the coalition of killing women and children only and the whole body count gets credited to them as well. Then eventually you will get...

"OUT OF DAFUR NOW!"

Yes, exactly, finally someone gets it! Somalia, Rwanda, they didn't pan out well at all. Like Afghanistan, Darfur would take a lot of bullets, a lot of money, and a lot of dead to sort out. Our Nation is weak willed, and does not grasp the realities of conflict. Sure we could drop Afghanistan (which is a worth while cause), and go to Darfur (which is also worthwhile), but casualties would wound, money would be expended, and people would be killed (no doubt some civilians in the mix) and we'd be at the exact same place we are now; uneducated individuals declaring the war unwinnable, people winning over civilians casualties, and most Canadian soldiers in the ground. Why trade one conflict for another? Unless of course it's become Canadian custom to bail out when things get dicey?

Good day Thomaska, the Republicans F AMERICA big time. So big in the next 5 years America is like a boxer with blood all over his face and the referee has stopped the fight (BY THE WAY THE REFEREE IN CASE YOU WANDER WHO THAT MAY BE ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE). THE REPUBLICAN ARE FINISHED. And as tradition of political history has shown to all of us is that when ever a Conservative Government has F***** the people, the people have installed a Democratic Government, THE LEFT AS YOU CALL THEM TO REPAIR THE FINANCIAL DAMAGE LEFT BY THE WARMONGERING REPUBLICANS OR CONS. In this case financial damage in the tune of 1BIG TRILLION RED INK. ENJOY………
Who is blameing who, the Republicans are going to wear that one for years to come.

..and who has the right to "sort it out?" Whose responsibility is it?

Is it our? If so, then we should immediately send troops to "bail out" Russia, China, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, etc... The list is endless

Wait!!!

Aren't Muslims killing Muslims in Darfur?

Maybe Israel can help?

Israel may be bloodthirsty, but "dumb," they are not. Do you see them with troops in Afghanistan or Iraq? With the ideologies at play, you'd think they have the most at risk.

They're smart enough to let their "stooge" the USA try to clean up the mess

In Africa, we see the results of meddling in the affairs of a world not ours to understand.

Blame the US? Hardly. Britain, France and the Netherlands were bickering over treasures and interfering with people on the "dark continent" when Uncle Sam was still just "Li'l Sammy" and wetting colonial diapers.

The Netherlands were in Africa (South Africa) very briefly

Maybe you meant Belgium. Spain, Portugal, Germany or Italy?

Whom precisely would we being trying to help out in Darfur? Do they want help and what sort of help do they want? Lastly what's in it for us if we go there and die to help them?
