If Bush was smart he would let Isreal do his dirty work and stopp Irans nuclear program. Isreali aircraft can easily hit the targets with intell from the US.

I am sure the people in Iran LOVE being told what to do and what not to do by the aging mullahs of the Revolutionary Council. They are very happy in their oppression, stonings, public hangings for adultry and homosexuality, being executed (usually women as they ALWAYS tempt the men of Iran) for pre-marital sex. It's a fun place to grow up. I hear the Revolutionary Guard and their Secret Police are nice people and very accomadating.

Yes the people of Iran LOVE their life and LOVE visits by Secret Police in the middle of the night because a neighbor has a score to settle. Just asked the father of the 15 year old girl who was hung because she was different and had premaritals with a 50 year old former Revolutionary Guard member. When the judge asked to see her figure and decided that she was 20 because of her physique and not actually 15 her fate was sealed.

But if you mean conqured from within like the non alcohol toting, non pork scanning haji's in Minnesota, then you might have a point. Once all the newspeak from the left has made everyone into socially dependent drones, it might happen.

He just wants the US to fall in anyway. He is so obsessed and jealous that his dellusions get the better of him. Have pity on him.

Fifty or 60 F-4 Phantoms. OK... those are Vietnam era planes and would not stand a chance. If every one of those planes got off the ground a carrier airwing would make quick work of them. It would be a Navy Pilot's DREAM. It would be like the F-4 Phantom going up against WWII aircraft. The same goes for the F-5.

The F-14's that they have were sold to them by the US before the Ayatollah Khomeni came into power. So that was the late 70's. I doubt many of them are operational if any of them are. If they are working they are 30 years behind the latest F-18's and F-14's.

Iraq had a nice airforce and all Iraq could do was try to get them to Iran so they would not be blown up on the ground. The Allies in Desert Storm had total air superiority from the start.

I guess that's why the whole Iraq thing was such a cakewalk, and it was so quick and easy to clean it up and walk away.

The thing is that it WAS easy to beat the Iraqi Army. It was over pretty quick was it not? Beating their standing army was very simple unless you of course were listening to and believing the Iraqi Information Minister.

"Sir... their are reports that the Americans are at the Baghdad Airport."
"No... I was just there. They are trapped in Nassariya."

ooooookaaaaaay.

Well, that would depend on your definition of "Iraqi Army", but that's too fine a point, I guess.

Enjoy your simplified dismissal of anything that isn't technologically up to your standards, in the belief that it makes it non-functional. It worked well in Vietnam, and in Iraq so far. I'm sure it will continue to do so.

Well that just means your head is stuck in the sand and refuse to admit that the Iraqi Army as a whole was completely destroyed... tanks, artillery, infantry units, aircraft... all disintegrated.

Now we are dealing with an insurgency and the news is positive. Sunni militias on the side of the standing Iraqi Govt. are now fighting Al Queda foreigners as they have finally worn out their welcome and have killed far too many Sunnis and Sunni Sheiks. Sadr is now impudent and the SURGE IS WORKING! Attacks and bombing are down. We are winning kiddo.

Vietnam... YAAAAAWN... that topic again? How long are you silly people going to bring that up?
