C'mon Petros... Syrian forces were able to retake a WHOPPING 5% of territory lost with Russian air power! *snicker*

Gosh you should have heard the Putin Cheerleaders on NPR trying to spin this Russian embarrassment.

The US is calling Afghanistan and Iraq a victory, that would make Syria much more than a victory. Russia did in 6 months what the US couldn't do in more than 10 years. hahaha

A strategic one because Assad is still in power. Russia has achieved exhalted status with Syria

So Assad is now in power forever? There is no chance of him being pushed out?

Russian airstrikes failed to dislodge the rebels or ISIS beyond 5% of what the SAA lost.

It was a quagmire.

They are removing ground forces.. not air power..

Syria conflict: Russia 'to continue air strikes' after withdrawal

They should just bomb the region into the last Dark Ages.. oh sorry they already are there under Islam.

Oh they're pulling planes out too.

What ground forces were there other than to guard the fence to the airstrip?

The Russians were combat ineffective in Syria. They were unable to project power ashore.

The Russians did absolutely nothing and they are pulling out in defeat.

Russian Carpet bombing did drive the rats back into some of their holes but the Russians were unwilling to leave the fence line on foot and Assad's troops were ineffective on the ground.

So you would rather see ISIS take Syria than Russia..

Have you recently converted to Islam, and became an Obamabot?

US Media Revives Concerns That Putin is Again Outmaneuvering Obama in Syria

Stratfor Explains President Putin’s Largely Achieved Objectives in Syria

The first, it suggests, is “ensuring the stability of the allied Syrian government and by extension Russian interests in Syria.”
The second, it says, is “demonstrating and testing its armed forces, which are undergoing a significant force modernization.”
The third, Stratfor claims, is “weakening the Islamic State and other terrorist organizations, especially given the large number of Russian nationals fighting in Syria among extremist factions.”

Mostly the honesty and efficiency in doing what they set out to do. Do you hate them for bringing a ceasefire to a region wracked with war for 5 years??

Don't worry the S-400 will be staring and so will the heavy equipment like tanks. You two are really sore losers aren't you. Bitch when radical Muslims are pounded to dust when you claim to be trying the same. You should now be concerned about Turkey imploding and a big round war crimes charges being filed.

Talk about somebody being in a quagmire.

Face it Bro... the Russians are high tailing it out of there.

Since September when the Russians started carpet bombing the Syrian army has only managed to regain a fraction of what they've lost.

The Syrian Army have lost thousands of Russian made tanks and AFVs. Even the new T-90s were getting baked by 1970's era TOW missiles.

It is no surprise to me why the Russians are in full retreat.
