Oh how PATHETIC is the reasoning of VIBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VIBC has the immature spiteful nature of a sullen teen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is offended by my use of the phrase "third world pest holes'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yet.........................VIBC does not seem to understand what it is that prompts an African to jam into a leaky boat and try to cross an ocean in an effort to get to a country where the toilets flush and the lights are on and good schooling for the kids is always available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And VIBC does not understand why an unemployed Guatemalan would try to cross the deserts lining the Rio Grande in an effort to find relatively safe haven living in a Los Angeles SLUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And THERE IS THE KEY POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MILLIONS of illegals would rather live a fugitive life in a Yankee SLUM than be bothered walking freely on the streets of their home country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VIBC and his anti white pals have no argument to counter these facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They simply and glibly BLAME WHITES for any and all problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And of course the most famous anti white LIE is that United States is to blame for Cuban poverty simply because United States refused to trade with the VICIOUS Soviet Castro regime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The LIE centres on the fact that Cuba HAD ALL of South America to trade with.......................................

as well as the option of trading with the REST OF THE PLANET....................excepting those Yankees of course.........................

IF ONLY the BANKRUPT CUBAN SOVIET ECONOMY could make anything that other people WANTED to buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But sadly the Cuban pesthole ran true to Soviet type and produced NOTHING of value!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ONLY thing Cuba has to sell is its sunny tropical beaches.......................................

and Soviet goofs CANNOT claim to have created the beaches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the Cuban Soviets simply took over and nationalized the hotels that had existed BEFORE the revolution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cuban Soviet mess was so bad that about 20 years back - Toronto (Red) Star newspaper advised Cdns vacationing in sunny Cuba NOT to tip Cuban hotel workers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes- Red Star told us there was NO REASON to give Cubans cash because there IS NOTHING TO BUY IN THE SOVIET PARADISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Red Star recommended TAKING CANS OF FOOD to Cuba and handing that out instead of cash tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because the typical daily food ration in the Soviet Paradise was PERILOUSLY CLOSE TO STARVATION LEVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes- in the middle of the Cold War- with the Cuban Soviet Regime at the height of its power............................................

the TROPICAL ISLAND of Cuba -which was warm enough to produce two or three CROPS PER YEAR off each field........................

COULD NOT FEED ITS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AS RUSSIANS, Chinese and now Cubans have discovered the hard way...............................

if you want LOTS of food production then you MUST HAVE CAPITALISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the last days of Glasnost and Peristroika under Mikail Gorbachov........................................

the Russian old folks - working on their little allotments of vegetable gardens ..........................................

produced MORE FOOD -- FOR capitalist profit-- than ALL the Russian Soviet Collective farms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And those old Babushkas did it without a huge outlay of machinery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah- a bunch of Grannies with shovels produced MORE POTATOES than the VAST Collective farms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And in spite of the bluster of Soviet leaders.....................how galling it must have been for them to know that every autumn..................

ONE THIRD of all the infantry units in the entire vaunted Red Army had to be sent off to dig up potatoes on the Collective Farms!!!!!!!!

And that Soviet Farm Aid NEEDED most of the truck fleet of the Red Army!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soviet methods for producing ANYTHING are SO BAD that if the army had not been used to pick crops in the

autumn.................................then the crops would have ROTTED in the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and then Russia would have STARVED BY SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine being a Soviet general planning a war .......................................

while fully aware that most of your critical transport and much of your infantry will need to CALL A TRUCE till the crops are harvested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And these ECONOMIC IDIOTS saw fit to CLAIM SUPERIORITY OVER US????????????????????????????

That phrase "third world pestholes" is THE POLITE DESCRIPTION of most of the third world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Cubans make good cigars .

Of course there are ways but I believe not enough will be done till it's too late to prevent catastrophe.

That's when population, consumption & human-caused pollution will drop, maybe to zero.
Have you any idea how much cleaner our collective emissions have got in Canada in the last 50 years ? We used to pump tons of lead and sulfer into the atmosphere with our vehicle exhaust, our homes were heated with wood , coal and oil . Our reclamation of soils and waterways from past environmentally destructive practices is ongoing and effective . We have also significantly curtailed those environmentally destructive practices . I am breathing cleaner air in Vancouver today then I was 50 years ago .

That damn Harper upping CAFE minimum laws.

Release date: 2018-07-18

Fuel economy for light duty vehicles sold in Canada is projected to improve roughly 40% between 2011 and 2025Footnote 1. The improvements result from Canada’s greenhouse gas emission regulations set out in the Passenger Automobile and Light Truck Greenhouse Gas Emissions Regulations under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. The regulations set limits on the grams of carbon dioxide, or CO2 equivalent emissions per mile for each manufacturer’s vehicle fleet and covers vehicle model years 2011-2025 with increasingly more stringent targets.Footnote 2 The regulation is harmonized with the U.S. fuel economy standards.

Hey, PGS;

please do me a favour and don't quote huge reams of garbage by people I ignore. If you can't guess who they might be I'll send you a list, but among them are some folks who always quote other folks' reams of garbage instead of deleting it, or at least editing. :)

Of course I'm aware of reductions in some types of emissions. But I'm definitely unaware of any overall reduction in co2 or pollution generally; quite the opposite. And plastic pollution sounds like being a largely irreversible disaster, quite apart the global effects of producing it - such as fracking, the use & contamination of huge amounts of water and laying waste to huge tracts of the landscape

I've been in Vancouver both recently and 50 - no, closer to 60 - years ago. Subjectively I can tell you the last time I was there, the air fairly stunk of exhaust fumes. Residents probably don't notice. I don't recall it being like that in the early 60's when it was still a small city. (Maybe I just didn't notice :)). Nobody I knew heated with wood. Maybe in the rural areas; in many such places people still do.

Some
improvements have been made in the rate at which individuals in the 'developed' countries are directly degrading the environment but I don't see any reason to believe the global future looks optimistic. I think just about everything, worldwide, is getting inexorably worse.

Not sure how many but I do remember some had sawdust furnaces with a screw-feed. As for coal I met some smart-ass Vancouverites who scorned me for the fact that I came from a country "so backward" that it heated with coal ("that they dig up in the back yard!")

Demonstrating that ignorance & stupidity transcend borders and there have always been immigrant bashers.

Well I disagree . The fog and smog we experienced growing up is nowhere near as prevalent as now . False Creek was an industrial sludge pit . To suggest our current environmental standards are leading Canada or Canadians to the brink of disaster is ignoring the fact we have close to if not the most stringent standards in the world . Go preach elsewhere .
