She should have been fired not prosecuted!

Well, unless they have the right of recall, I'm gathering that it can't happen. It's an ELECTED position.

However, you'd think if she was breaking the law that there would be some recourse as she's doing something illegal. Maybe there isn't and maybe there will be in the future to prevent this very thing from happening again.

There are a few avenues of recourse. She cannot be recalled, but she can be impeached by the Kentucky legislature or removed if she is charged with misconduct by the Kentucky attorney general. The judge could also rule that her jailing renders her incapacitated, in which case her deputies could issue licenses.

So 2 born agains, one Christian and one Muslim are trying to change the workplace?

What if next year they change religions again or..........?

Perhaps it’s not surprising that, while Kim Davis is sitting in a Kentucky jail, we’re hearing another story of someone requesting religious accommodations at work.

Charee Stanley is a flight attendant for ExpressJet Airlines. She became a Muslim a year after accepting the job and now believes she should be able to get out of serving drinks to passengers because it goes against her faith.

The arguments in Stanley’s defense are no different than the ones in Davis’ case. Hell, Stanley’s attorney, who works with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, seems to be ripping pages right out of the Liberty Counsel playbook:

What this case comes down to is no one should have to choose between their career and religion and it’s incumbent upon employers to provide a safe environment where employees can feel they can practice their religion freely,” said Lena Masri, an attorney with Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Thanks for the reddie, Waltard, you pathetic coward!

I wouldn't mind them at all if he just wrote one short sentence to explain them. Sometimes I just get the probably misguided idea that they may be for supporting the wrong Politician or party. Yet I know Walter is not prejudiced that way.

According to some left-wing, radical, atheist, communist, Kenyan, Muslim socialists, America " is officially neither Catholic, Protestant nor Jewish; where no public official either requests or accepts instructions on public policy from the Pope, the National Council of Churches or any other ecclesiastical source; where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials.”

Not to mention womanizer. It's funny, poor old Clinton gets hauled over the coals for it meanwhile doesn't hold a candle to all J.F.K.'s womanizing and hardly a mention. Of course that was a case of like father like son. :)

Never happen. He's aware he was wrong, and now he's putting all his effort into running down the road tryin' to loosen his load.

I liked his claim that a Supreme Court decisions with Virginia as a party would only apply in Virginia. That boy's got stupid he ain't never gonna use.
Maybe he's actually Fin Donnelly LOL

That's because Clinton did his thing with relatively unsophisticated women who believed they might get something beyond a night or a few with the governor or president out of it. JFK chose women who knew that what they saw was what they got: a one-night stand with the big boss.

hhmmm The biggest brand of Christianity in the USA is Protestantism and Baptist version is the biggest of that.
So far, that is. Lots of Mexicans headed stateside, though, and they are predominantly Catholic.

If you thought the one thing the fight between virulently anti-LGBT county clerk Kim Davis and actual American laws needed was the inclusion of an awful lot of sketchy people waving guns around, you're in luck.

The Oath Keepers, the anti-government “Patriot” group that mounted an armed standoff with the Bureau of Land Management at the Bundy Ranch, stationed armed guards outside of military recruitment centers after the Chattanooga shooting, and unsettled Ferguson protestors when they showed up carrying assault weapons, is now offering anti-gay Kentucky clerk Kim Davis a “security detail” to protect her from further arrest if she continues to defy the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling. [...]
[Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes] said that the Rowan County sheriff should have blocked U.S. Marshals from detaining Davis, but since neither the sheriff nor the state’s governor will do their “job” and “intercede” on behalf of Davis, the Oath Keepers will have to do it instead.

Just to be clear, does this mean that if Kim Davis defies court orders again by prohibiting her deputies from issuing same-sex marriage certificates, any attempts to arrest Kim Davis and bring her back before the court will be met with armed resistance? Yes. Yes, it does.

This is exactly the kind of thing that our Founding Fathers dealt with when dealing with the magistrates and the officers of the crown who wanted to run roughshod over the rights of the colonists without a jury indictment, without any of that,” Rhodes declared. “Same thing. They’re going to show their power and show you who’s boss.”

This sets up the distinct possibility of Kim Davis loafing around her County Clerk's office with armed "guards" in tow—you know, for Jesus—while she continues to order the rest of her staff to disobey court orders. Won't that be fun. Here's hoping Mike Huckabee shows up for a photo op for that one, too.
