Has nothing to do with people in glass houses. That is just another chldish knee jerk response. With no substance. How does it make some feel better to involve the Canadians in the US destruction on the planet.?? It does not make the mess any better at all. The US does have a problem taking ownership of the problems it creates.
It has everything to do with a decision made for reasons never fully disclosed that has destroyed a far off nation that posed no threat to the invader. It was an ELECTIVE invasion that slaughtered tens of thousands that can never be truly justified ......no matter what words are spun to make it appear more appealing or acceptable.
Irag was not a threat to the US ........but the bush regime had it in for SH and rather than just assassinate him ( as the US is prone to do now) ...it invaded and destroyed. and my goodness the promises that were made . one would think the US was offering Iraqis a paradise on earth.......( think purple fingers that the US sensationalized so much as if that changed the truth on the ground) ...
Sad that so many bought into it.
What makes it even worse is that as long as SH was a pal to the US , all was fine. The US thought they could control him. He wanted to change the currency in Iraq and that was one part of the package that dissed the US off.
NO ONE is defending SH atrocities. But NO ONE SHOULD DEFEND the US atrocities either. Two major BADS do not make a good........and it will take decades for things to settle down in Iraq as it tries to define what and who they now are. It is not enough to say that they can vote. Dictators allow voting too. Heck.....look at the US "voting" systems .....
Topple the leadership....such as it was, destroy the infrastructure and one can expect chaos of varying degrees for some time.
.....The only time Iraqis will and can have full influence over THEIR country and THEIR future......all outside influence must be removed or reduced to "consultative " rolls as requested by the Iraqis .
It is THEIR country and it is up to them how they handle the ongoing violence , The US et al cannot presume it knows better as to what the Iraqis want or need. That is just bellicose arrogance . Iraq is not to be made in the image of the US.. as it has its own culture, identity and fantastic rich history.

At least
63 Iraqis were killed and 257 more were woundedin a series of attacks that took place a day after the ninth anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. While the date may be significant, the attacks could also be a simple prelude to Arab League related violence.
