Like it says; I bet none of you here on CCN can get me to believe in God, but because I love a good heated argument, I want to see how convincing some of you can be, and who knows, i could even consider considering the consideration of believing.

I wouldn't even try, I think you'd be right not to believe. I don't myself, and my unbelief has served me well, allowed me to make sense of a lot of things, like the suffering of the innocents, that otherwise make no sense at all if you believe there's a just and loving deity running things. The available evidence just doesn't sustain that conclusion, in my view. That doesn't prevent you from believing in some indifferent or actively cruel deity, but the evidence for either of those is at best only marginally better, and deeply unconvincing to me. I think the safest assumption is that we're on our own here and personally responsible for what we do, no deity or demon made us do it or is going to save us from it.Like it says; I bet none of you here on CCN can get me to believe in God...

I think that argument's specious. I can explain purple the same way I can explain ultraviolet, or x-rays, or gamma rays. We're all blind to them, but nobody doubts their reality, we have solid evidence that they exist. I know exactly what you mean by "that tingle in the depths of my mind, " I've felt it many times and I've no doubt it's real, I just interpret the feeling differently. I think it comes entirely from inside my mind. Can you explain the colour purple, truly explain the colour purple, to someone who can not see colour at all? .

Your usual intelligent repartee when it comes to religious matters. You really don't get it: some people are just unable to agree with you, your position seems wrong and unconvincing to them, and I'm one of them, just as you are one of the people who cannot agree with me, for the same reasons.

People either have a spiritual sense, can feel that tug, sense that deeper connection, or they can not. That sense of wonder and awe, that tingle in the depths of my mind that tells me there is more to the world than us.
If you can't feel it, there's not much anyone can tell you to 'convince' you.
And that's fine too.
