If Michael Ignatieff drops the coalition and does not depose Harper then it will look like, and I will concede is the case that, Harper was right to call for a "break." The Liberals will look childish and opportunistic if they don't form the coalition.

His first priority should be to investigate what deals have been made with the Bloc and to find out why his party wanted to make Dion PM last week.

Getting a dinner date with Stephen Harper at 24 Sussex Drive - Hammering out a budget that they both can support - Setting in motion a plan to go forth over the next 18 months reorganizing each government department in to an efficient provider of services to Canadian taxpayers - Deciding on when the next election should be and a law for review by parliament that sets out what percentage government expenditures can go up other than for military, economic or natural disasters. He should pack his toothbrush and a pair of PJ's

Not bad!

But aren't you afraid to abandon this poor neophyte in the Castle of Dracul Harper overnight?.......he may come out with his eyes glazed, recoil from sunlight, and propose the gov't cut funding to the Arts Council.......

But I think, if he is interested in reviving the ailing Liberal "brand", his first priority would be to politely tell Layton and Duceppe to FO.

The second part of that is easy.....Dion will be the first leader of the Liberal Party in 120 years NOT to be Prime Minister.........

They weren't called the Natural Governing Party for no reason........

If he is at all clever he would contact Paul Martin to learn the ropes about managing money.
