Canadians are watching in disbelief the political crisis developing on Parliament Hill. Just six weeks after we elected a minority Tory government that didn't look much different from the last Tory minority, we could have a coalition government, lead by... well, we're not sure who.

In times like these, humour, rhyme and song may be the only way to get through, as one commentor, Sens_Fan_in_Ottawa, found out. This person wrote a nifty limerick:

There once was a man named Stephen,
With the Libs he wanted to get even,
He took all their money,

Apologies to Mother Goose!

This is the Mess that Steve made!

This is the bill
That lies in the Mess that Steve made.

This is Steve’s Jim
That presented the bill
That lies in the Mess that Steve made.

This the Left
That was outraged with Steve’s Jim,
That presented the bill
That lies in the Mess that Steve made.

This is the plot deft
That emboldened the Left
That was outraged with Steve’s Jim,
That presented the bill
That lies in the Mess that Steve made

These are the Ministers wishing they’d never been born
When they heard of the plot deft,
That emboldened the Left
That was outraged with Steve’s Jim,
That presented the bill
That lies in the Mess that Steve made.

This is Stephen all tattered and torn,
With his Ministers wishing they’d never been born,
When they heard of the plot deft,
That emboldened the Left
That was outraged with Steve’s Jim,
That presented the bill
That lies in the Mess that Steve made.
