A 7-year-old Chinese girl was not good-looking enough for the Olympics opening ceremony, so another little girl
with a pixie smile lip-synched Ode to the Motherland, a ceremony official said -- the latest example of the lengths Beijing took for a perfect start to the Summer Games.
A member of China's Politburo asked for the last-minute change to match one girl's face with another's voice, the ceremony's chief music director, Chen Qigang, said in an interview with Beijing Radio.
The news follows reports that some footage of the fireworks exploding across China's capital during the ceremony was digitally inserted into television coverage, apparently over concerns that not all of the 29 blasts could be captured on camera.

So what, all women on TV, advertising 'anything', are beautiful, the average to plain woman, doesn't get a smell, so, don't really know what the fuss is all about, same ole same ole, and that starts with children, so, pot can't call kettle black.
Women with great bodies, but plain faces won't get a chance to do any modelling, ever,
or be picked for dancing parts, and it just goes on and on.
They're just doing what everyone else does. Makes a good story I guess, if you like to make china look bad over everything.

Since I'm feeling all transparent, with all this discussion of rep points, this one earned one from me. It smacks of reality talloola. One of those posts that I don't normally reply to, because, well, the forum gets a bit annoyed with back patting, but, well, this one earned a pat.

The Olympics is all show. It's no surprise stuff is faked, lip-synched and otherwise fornicated. It wouldn't come as a shock if a lot of events were taped previously and the cheers came from a laugh machine. I think it's about time to end the political showcase.

I feel nothing. No surprise, no regret, no chagrin, nothing, except perhaps a mild "suspicions confirmed" feeling. I think the IOC is corrupt beyond redemption, it was a mistake to give the games to a totalitarian repressive state like China, the dopers will always be a step ahead of the detection technology, and very little of it has anything to do with legitimate human physical performance. The Olympics are politicized and corrupt, and I generally pay no attention to them. They mean nothing to me, except for hockey in the winter Olympics. That at least is usually entertaining, especially women's hockey, which is a fine game of speed and finesse, at least so far.

But I really don't much care.

Not Bothered in the slightest ,the games are an out dated ,circus that should in my opinion should be stopped, the moneys spent on this circus could be better spent ,on the squalor and mess that is in each and every country that has ever held one of these

Like everything else in China, it's fake. Counterfeiting, forgery, faking things in general are all hallmarks of the modern Chinese society.

Perhaps you should come here and see for yourself Durka Durka ,here in China my house is real ,My Mercedes Van is real as well as my bank account ;my business is thriving and it's real .Most important my family and friends are real .Are you real ?your avatar ? You told me in another thread that all Chinese girls look like boys .Well , here men ( when I showed your picture) say you look like a girl or you wish you were one .So .....is the DurkaDurka real or fake ?

"The Chinese rower Zhang Liang was disqualified in the men’s double sculls event after he failed to show up for his men’s single sculls race Saturday. The double sculls event, in which Zhang was supposed to row with his teammate Su Hui, was held later in the day. The race went off without them."

"The Chinaman is sneaky." I like how the stands are filled with "volunteer cheer leaders" while for months officials have said that the games are sold out. Yet there are people outside scalping tickets for thousands. Nice job China! And you too IOC.

I guess it's to be expected from a country that doesn't mind if you see it's dirty laundry as long as you don't say anything about it.

Integrity is suppose to be paramount in this the pinnacle of amature sport. It doesn't bode well for so many things to be faked. We already have professional wrestling, we don't need more sports entertainment. Especially when it's masquerading as a ligitimate test of ability.

Shame on China.

So what ?How does anything you say affects the athletic competitions; are you from Canada or something ?

Which "sport activities are "faked" ?You are talking about 2 different things in your attempt to discredit the Chinese Olympics .You are a Canadian and you are discrediting the Chinese .......and that is a fact. You think that being Canadian you are a God send person .Trust me when I say that's not an opinion of the majority of the world regarding Canadians and I am telling you what I hear from others who have lived in Canada ,and I know many of them .

The whole games are tarnished now. If this much is faked, then it's obvious that far more is just as phony. It's not as surprising as one might think. China is notorious for fakes, rip offs and simply not caring about anyone or anything other than what some Chinese want.
I hoped it would be different with so many Chinese people involved. It must be a cultural thing, being sneaky.

Who knows, could be all of them, some of them there is no telling now. Not like there is some honesty in China that will over come the lies that are already out there. That they come to the typical Chinaman so easily is a pretty good indication that as a whole, the Chinese people are just not ready to move into a developed country status.
