Forty-four years of futility and heartbreak came to an end when Spain earned a 1-0 win over Germany in the final of Euro 2008.
Spain's only other victory at a major international tournament came on home soil in the final of the 1964 European Championship when it defeated the Soviet Union. Spain's victory also denied Germany a record fourth European title.
Sunday's final in Vienna capped off a sensational, three-week tournament that produced a slew of memories, great goals and fantastic games.
Now, we want to know what stood out the most about Euro 2008 for you.
What lasting memory will you take away from the tournament? What was the best game of the tournament? Who was the best player? What was the best goal?
Did any results surprise you? What did you think of the job Austria and Switzerland did as co-hosts? Does this have you excited for Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine?
