Premier Dalton McGuinty says his government's ban on the sale and cosmetic use of pesticides will create a new standard across the province. It will likely take effect next spring.
Last Friday the federal government announced that Canada will ban the import and sale of polycarbonate baby bottles containing bisphenol A (BPA). If the ban proceeds, Canada will be the first country in the world to limit BPA.
The latest ban comes from Turner Valley, Alberta. Coffee in foam cups may soon be out of fashion after town council voted Monday to ban Styrofoam.Turner Valley, located roughly 60 kilometres south of Calgary, will be the first municipality in Canada to ban the petroleum-based product.
