Victoria’s Steve Nash had another standout season with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. Hayley Wickenheiser was in a class of her own at the women’s world hockey championship. Catcher Russell Martin and pitcher Jeff Francis led their respective teams into the Major League Baseball playoffs. Olympic kayaker Adam Van Koeverden paddled to a world title.
