Americans threatening to move to Canada if Donald Trump becomes president

Once again Americans are threatening to move to Canada. This time, however, it’s if real estate mogul Donald Trump becomes president.

Many south of the border took to social media following the New Hampshire primary to voice their threats of packing up and making a run for the Great White North if Trump becomes president.

It appears the idle threats were made just after the republican presidential candidate was declared winner of Tuesday’s primary.

“If y’all let Donald Trump become president…I swear I’m packing my family up and moving to Canada,” Shadney Houston tweeted.

“On the bright side, if Donald Trump becomes president, Canada is a beautiful place to live,” another tweeted.

Trump took the Republican primary with 35 per cent of the vote, while Ohio Gov. John Kasich took in just shy of 16 per cent of votes.

“We are going to do something so good and so fast and so strong and the world is going to respect us again. Believe me,” Trump said following his victory.

On the Democratic side of the primary, Bernie Sanders took 60 per cent of the votes compared to Hillary Clinton’s 38 per cent.

Don't we hear this sort'a thing with every election to the south
of us? "If politician 'A' get's elected, I'm taking my ball and going
home!!"

"Yeah, well if politician 'B' get's elected, I'm taking my ball and
going home!!"

Same old....same old.Doubt if anyone actually follows through.

Yep every single damn time.

This sort of rhetoric is only useful to the partisan trollers. They live among us, you know.

They even spam the board with them..
And bump up their own threads if they don't have enough bites....

Addendum :
It probably started with This...
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrrNzH_7kjY

But even before they had this... Moving to New Zealand Because Hillary Clinton Is Running? - Auck Ward

Same old same old.....

Extreme National Enquirer/Weekly World News headline worthy rhetoric serves the purpose of obscuring actual critical political discussion. That the "media" (and I use quotes for the obvious reasons) encourages this behaviour with overly sensationalistic headlines does not help.

These people are politicians, they are not evil incarnate nor the second coming of Christ. They are people, probably mostly in it for themselves and for whomever will get them re-elected. That's it, it is nothing more exciting than that.

Every US election there are some people proclaiming plans to leave the US. I'm sure the rest of the US would enjoy escorting them to the border.

The ones that would flee when Trump Becomes prez are not the type of people we would find to be desirable citizens.
