"It is indeed an indispensable step in the process of "union" that the Soviet leaders fondly hope will produce the "Soviet man", the "Soviet Nation", and to achieve that goal, the unified nation, the leaders of the Kremlin will gladly destroy the nations and cultures that have long inhabited Eastern Europe. To what extent can we draw parallels between "Soviet Man" and "Canadian"? It does seem that Canada is determined in destroying the culture of Anglo-Canada and Quebec through the facilitation of mass immigration.

We had went to a country in which all the inhabitants were technical members of the British Empire and had British passports, to one where the country gives out to a passport to all residents within four years and attempts to insert in a pseduo-culture based on hockey and the notion of secular tolerance similiar to that of the Soviet Union

Economic downtown and a change of opinion had brought down the Soviet Empire. Could it happen to the "Empire of the St. Lawrence" (D.G. Creighton's term)?

I hope you can speak Texan.

It would be ironic indeed if the Americans; much like the current Chinese and E. Indians, begin to take advantage of our lax residence and citizenship laws.
A country of 30 million is extremely vulunerable to anyone coming in by the millions.

I don't think Canada is determined to destroy the existing culture. We are determined to grow our population. Since Anglo-Canada is not doing their part, we have to look elsewhere. You are confusing cause and effect.

True unless it's changed. A lot of Americans are simply annoyed with Mexican migrants; who can now be found as far north as Idaho, and will instead just decide to flee to Canada.
Especially with the lax land border, most would just claim to be tourists, hide out in the bush for 3 years and petititon for residence / citizenship.

Immigration is the reason we cannot grow our domestic population. The prices of starter homes is compounded by the fact that we have old immigrants (average age of skilled migrant is above 30 - nevermind the family reunifications) coming into the country with tens of millions and purchasing the homes; in addition to, our government buying homes for "refugees" from "war torn" countries.

Compare the price of a $50,000 home in Vancouver during the 1970s / 1980s with the typical $1,000,000 starter home in the city of Vancouver.

Most of those in my generation would have had their own home and a first child by 25 (like the boomers); but instead, most won't even have a condo nor a child under 30 and most won't have more than 1-2 children.

There are also factors like a lot of these immigrants, over the age of 30, working in jobs which were formerly done by 14-17 yearolds back in the 1960's. So my generation has lost a lot of income and job opportunities, in addition to, not being able to afford housing.

As far as I am concerned if I was ever stopped by a RCMP wearing a turban to me he is not a RCMP and I would request to see a real Mountie wearing the full uniform.

Do you think I would get into trouble????

The Queen has no problem with Turbans on the Royal Guards.

If the Queen in the Netherlands is any indication; the Queen in England doesn't have much say in what happens.

The Human Rights Commission does need to prosecute a 12 or so token victims a year, so if the quota was running a bit low than probably yes/

Canadians aren't like that anyway,
"making a scene" about someone's race or the fact they are wearing a turban just doesn't happen here. There's a difference in pushing an anti-immigrant agenda than being a plain bigot; with intent of annoying a police office in (slightly modified) uniform.

Amusingly; in my provinces' history, it was actually the American migrants during the Fraser Gold Rush that fought and attacked and demanded an end to Governor Douglas' Guyanese (Mulatto) police force.

The Americans came to mind because these were the same people who had a culture of bigotry, it was purposely acceptable just to harass someone in a restaurant for being black until the 1970s.

It would be amusing if we did have tens of millions of illegal American migrants, they probably wouldn't tolerate "diversity" in the Canadian format.

The bulk of what you listed, are specific Forces, whose traditional head gear is the turban.

The Mouties have a traditional head gear, the Stetson.
