Farrah Fawcett deserves to be remembered

We have seen a lot of death lately and this one was overshadowed by another. But Farrah Fawcett lived thru cancer that most of us would never want to imagine..

I remember her most in her role in Charlie's Angels and being with her long time partner Ryan O'Neal, but can you recall what else she did ?

Yes - I remember how well she played the role in the movie "Extremities". I had never taken her very serious before she played that role. It's a movie I'll never forget. Anyone who hasn't seen it should rent it. She was fantastic.

As well as being a rare beauty, she was a pretty good serious actress too. I don't know her film bio at all really, but I did see a flick years ago called The Burning Bed, in which she plays an abused woman who murders her husband in self defence. She was entirely believable in the role, did a good job of it. She won't go down in the records as one of the great actresses, but she was certainly competent, much more than just the jiggly-bosomed bit of fluff Charlie's Angels made her out to be. I agree, she deserves respect and remembrance.

I heard she banged the producers to get into Charlies Angels and the burning bed..... Can't prove it...but that's what I heard...proof isn't nesasary when talking about dead celebrities.

You can't dismiss the jiggly-bosomed bit of fluff from Charlie's Angels though...
She did that pretty darn well too! I wonder how many millions of that one poster
she sold in the seventies...it's got to be a huge number!!!

Well of course you did, so did I, stories like that always circulate about beautiful women in Hollywood. Besides, even if she did, so what? People bang other people all the time for worse reasons than that, and she played the roles well.

She sure was cute. I wasn't a big fan of hers but did like her gorgeous smile. Some say she preferred home life to Hollywood. I thought that was very nice.

Thank you for your post. I was trying to remember the name of that movie. She did a fantastic job.

I'm sorry...is there a problem with disrespecting a person who has died, that others consider an icon?

Is there a problem with what I have posted? If so...what would that be and why?

The problem is that you are an insensitive pig and a foul mouthed jerk.

and why is that? I'm not saying anything more foul or insensitive about fawcett than what was posted about Michael Jackson.

I don't suppose you have decency, common courtesy or respect enough to know anyhow. I don't see you spinning your graffiti on any MJ threads.

Nope, and you wouldn't have seen me "spinning my graffiti" on this thread either if it wasn't for the MJ threads.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander...isn't it? If Michael can be disrespected and **** on, then why not anyone else?

...and how old are you? Stop behaving like a spoiled six year old. Recess is over.

This thread was about Farrah and her life. I was not a huge fan but I did like her at one time in her life and thought like many others she got the raw end of Hollywood.

It's turned into another trash heap of foul language for no reason.

So you didn't care what she looked like and who she slept with.

Is there any reason to always trash people with foul language.

She died a horrible death and one I would not wish on anybody.. Can we not give her a little Rest In Peace ?

Well said Francis. In respect of your post and for Farrah Fawcett, I'll hold my tongue.

The poster I could live with ... it was the gazillion distortions of it on chubby teen-aged boy chests that still makes me grin.

Farrah Fawcett was a supermodel at one time, and I remember seeing her years ago on a tv show called “Harry O”. She was in some movies and was at one time married to Lee Majors.

No, I think there *is* a reason. It's a certain poster showing his usual brand of harshly judgmental self-righteous insensitivity. Probably drives a Corvette, or aspires to. Somebody ask me why, please...

Hehe....geez Gerry you sure know how to make an entrance. You nailed it buddy. A little over the top perhaps...but effective.

Farrah Fawcett was a hot looking honey in the 70's when we were teenagers. To a 17 year old she was a vision of beauty. Fawcett's Story documenting her battle with cancer was very moving. Watching a loved one die of this horrible disease is not easy.

It's not that you are disrespecting her, it's why you are disrespecting her. You claim she couldn't act - she could. You claim she was ugly - she was a 62 year old cancer patient. You're an idiot...not that that's a problem really. I like idiots, they make this place entertaining.

I can't figure out why the mods haven't put the kibosh on this warped obscene imbecile, but it's not for lack of trying on my part.

Nice going jerryh, do you pull the wings off flies and microwave cats too. You've shown your true stripe....Take a day off for everyone's sake.

Why? How much "respect" was shown Michael Jackson? A lot of derogatory opinions.

This may be a little too subtle for you but M.J was not in the same caliber as Fawcett. From Jackson's weird naming of his children to him dangling one of his children out of a hotel window, to the strange goings on at Neverland, Michael Jackson was strange no matter how you cut it.

Farrah Fawcett received a lot of recognition for her work. She wasn't going to be another Kathrine Hepburn, but she did a pretty good job at whatever roll she was offered. It cetainly helped that she was drop dead gorgeous.
