In contrast to the brutal way that he was treated by the Americans at the White House, Zelensky was given a much warmer welcome today by the British at 10 Downing Street.

The Ukrainian President arrived at London Stansted Airport for a European leaders summit tomorrow.

Referring to cheering crowds gathered outside Downing Street as Zelensky arrived, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer told Zelensky: "You have the full backing across the United Kingdom, and we stand with you and Ukraine for as long as it may take."

Zelensky is also to meet the King tomorrow. It will be the second time they've met, after previously meeting in February 2023.

Zelensky has been invited by the King for a meeting tomorrow at Sandringham.

This comes just weeks after Britain and Ukraine signed a 100 year partnership treaty.

Britain lends Ukraine £2.26 billion

Zelensky and Starmer looked on as British Chancellor of the Exchequer (Finance Minister) Rachel Reeves announced that Britain is to lend Ukraine £2.26 billion, taken from frozen Russian assets, at Downing Street.

The British PM and Ukrainian President then signed the deal.

Britain and Ukraine are now beholden by a treaty signed in January to help and support each other whenever necessary for the next 100 years.
