I just launched a new nature video website and I need some feedback. The site offers dozens of free to watch, three-minute long nature videos I've personally produced from locations around North America. The goal with the site is two-fold; to offer a relaxing, online "nature sanctuary", and to inspire viewers to participate in the preservation of natural areas by promoting the work of environmental non-profits. Promotion, entirely voluntary, is accomplished via the creation and sharing of personalized media (images and videos).

Since this is a new concept (as far as I can tell), I need feedback from those who care about the environment. Your opinions, impressions, suggestions, etc., are most welcome. The site, "Peaceful Walks", is found here: Peaceful Walks.

So, since you have inserted the "heart tugging" phrases, "nature sanctuary" "environmental non profit", is non profit your motive? How do you prove that. We should just blindly click on your link? Not me.

Very nice website, nice cool colors used, easy to navigate.. you have a winner..

You may want to monetize it with a few well placed Google ads ??

However?? www.liquidweb.com seriously? If your website is a promotion of nature and environment, why not go with an environmentally friendly hosting provider too and show that on your web site?? (just a friendly suggestion)

hhmm That's quite the ill-thought-out and emotional outburst.
Yeah, we all know how terms like "nature" and "environment" makes the stomachs of people like you churn, but here's a quote from the site "where you can relax, unwind and be inspired by the beauty of nature, free of charge". Any moneys sent in seem to be a matter of donations. Get it? That means it`s a voluntary thing. And because the site seems to be averse to having ads strewn around in it and sites cost money to maintain, donations are the only way to keep up that maintenance.

Looks cool to me. :)

Well I find the whole idea rather silly but then again I live in the country so rather than sit in front of my computer and look at nature, I just go for a walk. I suppose if you live in a high rise in downtown TO, it probably has some value.

We live in the country, too, and unless we decide to don the snowshoes and go trudging around on a day like today (windy with a good dose of sleet) and truck off to see the Tetons or someplace, it's kind of cool to see nature stuff that isn't even in this region.

Nope, I am not. But I don't simply dismiss anything without looking into it. I did and did not see any ads, any sales pitches, nor any prices of charges.
Nope. Just observant.

My my, observant but short on comprehension? Here is where the money trail starts. Btw, i security checked the site before clicking. "Adthis" tracking cookie found but otherwise safe. OP seems to be a driveby, has added nothing to the forum......
How well did you read this page?

So they host a competition for sponsorship. How does that prove they are not non-profit? You've never heard of non-profit organisations fund-raising?

Right from the "About Us" info- "Through sponsorships, unique shareable media are created that promote the many non-profit organizations whose mission it is to protect and defend the environment. "

I think the miscomprehension issue is your forte, not mine.
