Eagle fever has swept the online world, and has even gripped the Vancouver man who started it all.

Doug Carrick, who is monitoring an eagle nest in his Hornby Island backyard with a webcam and broadcasting the images worldwide on the internet, says that contrary to reports Friday, the eggs have not begun to hatc

It is so cool that people are interested in the eggs of the eagles. It tunes us into nature, and that is a good thing in this day and age.

I don't mean to one-up the eagles, but I just saw March of the Penguins movie, and WOW it was good stuff!!
[i know, its an old release by now, but it is being released on video and it is on TV movie channels now so its a "new release" to me].

Those Emperor Penguins live in a tough climate,-80c without the wind factor, which are 100 mph winds, and they stand out there barely moving for months with an egg perched ON their feet and a fold of warm skin over it. Really, for months.

At one point the females transfer the egg to the males and march 70 miles for food, march 70 miles back to the nesting site and take over.They have to start the march back at the right time, and arrive within two days of hatching - how do they know? Amazing.

obviously, I can't describe it like a movie can - its worth seeing if you are interested in the Eagle eggs. I thought no way could this topic be watchable for over an hour, but it is. Heck some people watch that eagle egg cam for an hour eh?

Eagles are amazing too, please don't think I doubt that!!

Any of these stories of natures amazing tales are good ones to tell.

March of the Penguins is a great movie. I can't think of an animal that has as tough a row to hoe as the penguin. carrying the egg on top of their feet is one of the most unlikely adaptations I'ever seen. Watching that movie almost had me hoping for global warming.
