The remains of a wooden ship discovered in 2010 under the site of the former World Trade Center in New York City date back to the 1770s, a new report says.
U.S. and Swedish researchers determined a portion of the hull was made from trees cut down in 1773 or soon after.
"All the oak timbers used to build the ship most likely originated from the same location within the Philadelphia region," the report in the July edition of the journal Tree-Ring Research says.
The researchers said few late-18th-century ships have been found and there is little historical documentation about how they were made.
"The ship's construction date of 1773 is important in confirming that the hull...represents a rare and valuable piece of American shipbuilding history," the report said.
The ship sank just 20 to 30 years after it was built in a lake that was later filled in to create space for homes and buildings.

So basically it was fortune hunting terrorists who brought down the towers.

Sounds like a Clive Cussler book in the making.

I don't generally quote myself, but Walter I am wondering why this deserved a thumbs down.

Can you explain why you gave me a thumbs down on this post? What warranted it being a bad post in your opinion.

I'm not pissed off or anything like that, but somewhat puzzled at your logic.

You're looking for logic? Lol

Personally I think he just has a specific script in his head and anyone or anything that veers even slightly from that gets a thumbs down.
