I just got Rogers wireless yesterday, and I'm not impressed. I've been reading that the router should not be placed near a wall that has the outdoors on the other side of it, near a window, on the floor, near a cordless phone, running water, children under the age of 9 or beagles. Anyway, for some reason, I can only get a consistent connection when I'm not in the same room as the freakin' router. I'm using a brand new notebook (perhaps its the computer?) and can't see any reason for this given the tiny apartment I live in, presently. I have to fork out more money for a wifi adapter as it stands right now, but given that I dont plan to do that for another month, I'd still like to use the notebook in other rooms, if possible. Any suggestions?

Is the router on a steel filling cabinet. Do you have a steel desk or anything that might block the signal?
Try turning the router 21` to one side or the other.
