Our ladies appear to be back in form, Kreskin. Team Japan came into their match with our ladies today at 4 and 1 but bowed out in the 7th end after Team Canada scored a deuce in that end to lead by, I believe it was 6 points. Lisa was curling at 100%. Joanne got her groove back and Rach was spot on with her draws, calls and take-outs. Happy to see our ladies get another one.

Edit: Correction - Team Canada won by 6 points over Team Japan

Canada currently sits in 3rd place in the medal count with 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze. Not sure if Alex Beaulieu-Marchand's Bronze in the slope-style skiing event has been added to the count yet.

83.67 That's the score given by the judges to Tessa and Scott in the short dance portion of the figure skating competition. It is the highest score ever given for the short dance in Olympic history. They were absolutely breath taking to watch on the ice tonight.

In the curling events today, the men's Team Canada improved their chances of reaching the medal round by beating Team Japan 8 - 4 in the 9th end of play. Kevin played much better curling 98%. Marc, Brent and Ben were all in the high 80's. A much better game by Team Canada though Team Japan did aid them a bit with uncharacteristic misses on their draws and take-outs.

The Olympic committee has blocked the video, as they should.

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir had to have the skate of their lives tonight to beat their nearest rivals from France ...........and they laid it down with such class it was mesmerizing........and in achieving their goal.............they won GOLD!!!!!! They also set another Olympic record with their score. I will miss them so very much. They have represented us with honor and joy. They are true Champions. I could not be happier for both of them.

They had a great program. Really head and shoulders above the competition - although I may be a little biased.

Russian (of course) curler fails drug test.

They were first tipped off when he started throwing over hand.

i would have looked at the video for research purposes. ;)

Had you been watching the event live, spammie - you wouldn't need the video. Must say I was a bit shocked to see the French skater's nipple poking out of her costume several times but that last shot when she bent over backwards was really quite shocking. Why the judges didn't pick up on it is really puzzling as costume difficulties in the past have been given a demerit for the skater. Apparently the very same thing happened with the same costume in another event which left me wondering why the problem wasn't fixed back then. Horribly embarrassing for the French skater but she handled it well.

Guess I must be naive cause I thought those girls wore athletic bras which kept their anatomy covered. Not that the exposure was any big deal as male divers, swimmers, and water polo players expose far more skin than any female does.

I just watched the USA lose to Czech Republic in hockey OT. My Yanks were too puny, unassertive, would not charge the goal, and took weak shots.

{sigh}

Russia vs Norway in ice hockey is live on BBC One. It's just utter carnage out there. There don't seem to be any team formations and I can't even see the object they're whacking about. What's going on?

Great Britain's women are through to the curling Semi-Finals after beating Canada 6-5.

We win! USA wins Gold in shoot out!!

Lady pucksters by 3-2.

Earlier, I was deeply disappointed when Lindsey Vonn lost in downhill/slalom combo. But this sure cheered me up. I saw some Canadian fans applauding when we won - thanks to those fans for showing such class.

US got a well deserved win. Congrats.
