Actually, upgrading to Windows Seven would be OK.
Windows seven is ( for now) a pretty stable system.

My problem is,"so is XP, but XP will soon be unsupported. So I either go to Windows seven or switch to LINIX , which is free. If
Windows seven is inexpensive and relatively pain free, I would upgrade. If not, I go to LINIX......which ever is easiest.

I bought MS Office Home and Student, on sale you can probably find it for $100 or so. Granted more costly than free, but it doesn't break the bank, lol.

Home and office 2013 is 124.95 at Staples, who did a back up, reload and full diagnostic at no extra charge for me .Microsoft is lucky to have them as a dealer I wouldn't be surprised if Macintosh links up with them as a dealer.
