Pete, Pete, Pete...

No, no no brother...you simply made a mistake. You were wrong and missed this thread in Canadian Politics. A mistake. We've all done it. It's just that by reminding us that you found the article so nauseating to the anti-harperites and figured (wrongly of course, that whoever they are anyway), they would just try to let the news slip by unnoticed and perhaps it would simply go away. Your opportunity to sorta shine. We forgive your mistake. You were just wrong. It's not the end of the world. Probably a little embarassing for you but that's easily overcome with our help. If you let us help you.

You'll recall how we suggested that you start your own threads rather than moan and complain about those of others, and believe me Pete, we thank you for your good effort. As it happened though, yours was just a re-post and somewhat late. A little wee mistake on your part. Not the end of the world. These things happen from time to time.

While making the group dig in your own thread however, you wondered why (perhaps none of your CONfriends didn't have the stomach to post it) there just was no sign of it. Well, despite your ego, voilà, there it was anyway. And of course...c'est dommage.

Not only that, but it was presented by (what I'll take a guess as) a small 'c' conservative and well-respected member here at CC. We had been talking about it for ages by the time you managed to stumbled-in.

So let me make a leap here if you will Pete...upon seeing the headline in The Globe and Mail (which you omitted as a reference for your source, out of integrity and internet honesty and decorum and all...another mistake...so I'll include it here) when you staggered home or woke up with your cheek glazed to your couch, whilst prairie surfing, you made the mistake. You were wrong. That's all. We fixed your mistake up for you.

Not to worry. It's just a mistake. A mistake. We all make them.

Might I offer a light musical interlude with hopes that it might enable you to chill out some, man.

Peace out brother and don't be mad, it's just a mistake.

Oh, and if you'll allow me, I offer you in friendship and peace, this uplifting self-help-type melody...it basically tells a story about keeping one's head up in spite of hardships, mistakes or difficulties. You don't need to know the words...purse your lips...thanks pete...enjoy your night again.

Just wonderin'...............

There are too many Spastics brainwashed for there to be change.

Brainwashed has nothing to do with it. Lethargic Canadians would be a more fitting descriptive. Canadians simply accept this horsesh!t from their government because they are too lazy and wrapped up in their own lives to hold these A-holes to account. Toss in the folks who refuse to see wrong as long as their rock star is in power and on and on it goes. This is not a partisan issue, it is an Ottawa issue and while it's unacceptable to some, its just business as usual for most.

Sort of. Paying indicates a desire on your part to have them as an employee in the first place and a willingness to pay excessive taxation.
I preferred someone else, so I didn't hire him or any of his ilk. But of course I don't get my druthers on where my tax dollars are spent either.

I was disappointed in Mr. Trudeau's marijuana issue. I say thiswithout commenting either way on the issue itself. His dad was a man of ideas and principles -whether you agreed with him or not (and I frequently did not) he at least usuallyhad an agenda more substantive than mere attention seeking. By raising an issue like the marijuana issueso early in his public career I wonder if Mr. Trudeau has signalled that he is frivolous and not the manhis farther was?

As to Mr. Harper, IMO he is too close to the United States. He was reported on the news as telling people that he believes in a “trickle down” economic model. Trickle down started under US president RonaldReagan and was a disaster for the US middle class, over 40% of which has beendestroyed. By its name it invites us toload up the riches on the wealthy then trust that they shall let some “trickle”back to us. It is like expecting lastnight’s burglar to mail back the cash contents of your safe after he has gottenclean away with robbing you. Why wouldhe? If we let them, some conservativeswill give our middle class away to US multi-nationals and politicians the sameway that America has destroyed its own middle class.

What are our choices? Must we choosebetween faithless conservatives willing to sell us out to Americans like MittRomney, or lightweights whose notion of high statesmanship is pot? Surely Canada can do better? Or not?

That's funny. SOmehow I doubt Mulcair and his merry band of freeloaders even enters Harper's thoughts.

Which is the same as saying Harper couldn't care less about Parliamentary democracy as Thomas Mulcair and the NDP are the official opposition.

When respected members of his own caucus are leaving because they're tired of being treated like "trained seals", we shouldn't be at all surprised when Harper continues to act as if there is no Parliamentary democracy in Canada.

And the sad thing is the longer we let it go on the more normal people start thinking it is. Democracy doesn't just happen, it's something we need to work at and if enough people don't care we won't have it anymore, which sucks when you think of how much has been given to allow us our freedoms.
